  • Simple yet extremely functional layout

This app is excellent. I was looking for something where I could categorize my spending and plan out recurring expenses (rent, insurance, etc.) on a calendar. I also wanted an app that could separate my spending between different credit card accounts and my checking account and be able to accurately transfer between them when paying off my credit balances. I've used Mint before but this app is much better, and it forces you to record your spending manually which I find keeps me much more aware of where I'm at in my budget. As for budget, Money Pro has a great budgeting feature. You can set up your goals for each category and watch throughout the month to see how you're meeting or exceeding your goals in a well laid out visual, which is great for me. Even though I'm an engineer I like visuals. This is much better than many of the free finance apps that basically look like a spreadsheet. There are also nice charts and whatnot to get a good visual of your overall spending history. I'm so happy I found this app! I had been looking for something this clean and functional for quite some time!

  • The Best Money Manager Period

Do you ever wonder where all your money is going? By the end of the month you’ve made great money but there’s still none left over? Well wonder no more, welcome to Money Pro. I’ve searched and searched for the right way to manage my wife’s and my money and after trying many other money managers, Money Pro hit the nail on the head! Money Pro makes managing your money simple yet very informative, a real eye opener. Money Pro is easy to use and breaks it all down for you. Print reports, check, view charts, check, easily input information into the Money Pro UI, check! I’ve just about tried every other money manager out there on my Mac, iPad and iPhone and this one takes the cake. It syncs between your devices through iCloud so everything is always up to date. Thank you Money Pro!

  • Not what I thought

I guess I should have paid better attention to the other reviews. I’m coming from desktop Quicken and was looking for something similar that I can use on my iPad (the Quicken app is not great). Based on the description, this sounded like just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, after I downloaded it, I realized I would need to upgrade to Gold so I could synch my accounts. I did that and paid for the subscription. Only after that did I realize that it doesn’t work how I thought it did. You can only reconcile in an account that is manually entered, so not in one that is synched with the bank. You also can’t add entries to an account that’s synched. I was hoping for a “hybrid” app that would allow me to enter transactions and they would be matched with ones being synched from my account, and I could reconcile each month. This app was not the one!

Hello! We do have an option to add planned transactions to Online Banking accounts. You can later match them with those downloaded from Online Banking. We can discuss it in detail at support@ibearsoft.com.
  • Love this app but would love to see an expansion

I’ve been using money pro for years and love it. Some of my favorite features is being able to photograph receipts and to see income vs expense reports.

I’m currently working on staring my own business and no iOS app is as easy yet full featured as this for income/expense tracking. My only wish is to see a business version with inventory management attached and sales tracking.

I’d like to be able to add in the total purchase like is already available but be able to break the purchase down into each material purchased and have it immediately moved into material or equipment inventory. Then to be able to use materials to create a final product inventory.

There’s a few pc apps that come close but nothing beats being able have backup photos of receipts and have full features on a phone or iPad.

I know QuickBooks is supposed to have all these features but the app is limited forcing you to use it through a browser.
  • Not synchronizing

*update - They fixed it overnight. Props to their support.

I use this app on my iOS devices and on my PC. I upgraded to the plus version to do this. For my needs checkbook hd worked fine but you've discontinued support on it to force people on to this. It's got some bells and whistles that are interesting but hardly neeed just to keep track of a check book. I'm still using checkbook as a backup thank god. Until you get this synching again no stars from me.
  • Could be great, but fails

Ultimately, this software disappoints rather than delights. I’ve used it for almost a year now, and under its beguiling interface lurks half-baked software with almost well-thought out ideas. Transactions lack payees, so if your interested in how much you spend at, say, Walmart over all categories you’re out of luck. This fades to insignificance compared to its budget module. There’s a lot to like about the budget screen, but because every transaction’s category appears in the budget, the screen quickly becomes a mess. A bigger disappoint is the recurrence options: I can’t schedule a paycheck for twice a month. So if I say every two weeks, my paycheck actuals very quickly get out of alignment with paycheck scheduled. When I first entered the paycheck amount, I made a mistake and forgot a decimal point. Short of deleting the category and setting it up again, there is no way to fix this mistake. This could be great software; it’s decidedly mediocre at best.

Hello! We have Agents, you can use them as payees and filter your reports based on it. I would advise on creating two recurring entries, say, one on the 15th and the other on 30th. That way you will achieve what you need. Budget categories can also be modified easily. Please reach us at support@ibearsoft.com and I will tell you how.
  • Disappointed

After years of using this app at the basic level i experience very few problems. Few weeks ago I updated to Gold level and now the data is completely worthless. There are many duplicate transactions actions, all the work of setting up recurring transactions, budgets, automatic payments are lost. When you receive downloads from banks and credit cards the transactions are duplicated the categories are incorrect. You can download your checking data and then 20 minutes later download again and the data doesn’t match. I lost 11 months of data even though I constantly backup.
I spent hours trying to correct the problem only to come to the conclusion it not reliable.
The balances are correct but the transactions are not. If I just wanted balances I would use Intuits mint.
As an Accountant and Auditor that used this app for years I’m very dissatisfied with the Gold update.
I even tried starting over from December 1st and as of December 2nd the few transactions are incorrect
    Very Disappointed
I now have to go back and create 11 months of transactions in order to prepare for income tax returns
  • Great app the best out there

I tested about 30 money apps and this one is the best out there. This one is offline. Funtionality 5+, user friendly 4 1/3 and accessability voice over 3. Overall 4 1/4 stars. If voice over feature is working properly this app will have 5 stars but, as I said its the best one out there a complete app with search capabilities by date or date range which I didn't see in any of the tested apps. Also, payee possible which many apps lacks and everything is integrated perfect. Great job. stars.
  • Disappointed

I’ve used the original checkbook HD app for years, and they finally stopped servicing and updating the older app…..so I bit the bullet and paid $10 to buy Money Pro (purchased for 2 different iTunes accounts). I bought it primarily to be able to sync data between my phone and my wife’s phone. We both spend money when we’re out, and it’s always been nice to just sync phones when we got home to show how much money we have in our shared accounts. Welp….money pro doesn’t do that as part of the $5 purchase fee. In order to sync data across different iTunes accounts/devices you have to pay a monthly subscription fee after the initial purchase. What a disappointment……
  • Really Wanted This To Work, but…….

This app has everything I want; calendar for scheduled transactions, connection to my bank so it will automatically update all of my account registers, fairly easy to navigate, etc. The only problem is that 2 days into this the app is way to buggy for me. I spent about 4 hours getting everything set up and it seemed to work yesterday. But right away I noticed a couple of duplicate transactions. The account balances matched my online bank balances so I figured it was just a fluke and decided to ignore it. This morning I noticed more duplicate transactions and it appears that some of the transactions that I put expense categories on yesterday changed overnight. But the last straw was this morning when the app quit connecting to my bank. Unfortunately that is going to be the end for me. I had high hopes that this app could replace the version of Quicken that I have used for years, but it doesn’t look like that is going to be the case. If I am having this much trouble not even 24 hours into this the app obviously isn’t for me. I’m just glad I found this before the free trial ended. I gave the app 2 stars just because I think the design is great, but the reality for me is that Money Pro is no where near reliable enough for me to invest any more of my time or money into it.
