The email standard we’ve needed
Hoping to update this review as I go, but I have been frustrated by the disregard for privacy from gmail and decided to make a change. I looked at Proton and Tutanota as options. Proton, while admittedly a more polished UI (at this point), could not beat Tuta when it came to mission, execution, and providing the best for their users. Main example of where Proton lost me: some (granted, few) basic features are tucked behind the paywall. And they remind you constantly. Tuta meanwhile has everything I need to make this my primary email, doesn’t shame me for not paying, and the cost for upgrading makes it something I’ll likely do if I switch over completely. The app on iOS and Windows haven’t given me any trouble so far.

You won’t find a more affordably priced option for truly E2EE email and calendar that has amazing cross-platform support. It has gotten consistently better and better since we switched over from Gmail a couple years back. Can’t recommend enough encrypting your email with Tutanota as soon as humanly possible.Show lesskeepitonthelow33

Actually private not pseudo-private
Tutanota is been winning the privacy battle for providing personal email. They've demonstrated that they're interested in absolute privacy. As opposed to their competition (protonmail) who are only private when compared to gmail.
Tutanota also doesn't push unwanted services on you that you have to pay for (VPNs etc).
In fact, if you want a private protonmail account, you'll need to do so by getting a TRUE anonymous Tutanota account and then using THAT to sign up for protonmail.Show lessYou were right

Being able to send encrypted emails should be commonplace and I’m glad the Tutanota team is leading the way. Only wish the service provided more storage for paying customers. Otherwise I’m completely satisfied with my service and the active development of this amazing service!Ned Rules

It's an easy to use and privacy oriented app, I like it. Just have a small suggestion. It would be nice if the agenda in the calendar could show all tasks instead of the last few days. Sometimes I wanna to see those long term tasks to help me remind myself.橘子小清新

Perfect for private email!
First, I just want to say thank you for your efforts to offer a fantastic privacy protected email service! It is my first experience with this type of email, but I have every intention to transfer completely from Google and the like to Tutanota. Spam and phishing emails are no longer a price I pay for an email address, and it’s truly appreciated. I also want to thank you for your hard work on updates and look forward to the next. If possible, I am hoping for the option to zoom while on my phone, as text is sometimes entirely too small.
