  • Latest update introduces new defect; destroys resolution

    This app already behaves inconsistently; the latest update is determined to destroy the value of having this camera.

    It now states “Detected network environment is poor…lowering resolution for a smoother experience” and downgrades from any of the higher resolutions to lowest resolution. Nothing is smoother about this; just more pixelated.

    Before, I could see in HD. The camera always required a moment to adjust and clarify the image when moved using the movement or zoom controls. This did NOT help that whatsoever, it made it worse. Now that same moment to adjust is needed when it downgrades its resolution without my asking. There is a setting for changing based on network conditions that is OFF; it existed before this update and toggling it makes no difference on this new defect.

    Now I cannot see things I once could because of this update constantly downgrading the resolution.

    Do not update this app if you can avoid it.

  • Latest version 3.9.0 is broken

    This version won’t display the camera at all. Breaks as it tries to render the camera image for the first time and crashes right out. Previous version worked perfectly (for a change!) OWLR apps and others work perfectly so camera and network are fine. Broke as soon as I updated. Your updates for iOS 16 broke earlier versions (I’m using an old phone with iOS 12.5.6).
    Please fix this, I rely on Foscam as it’s the only app so far I’ve found that plays back the SD Card.

  • App shows all ports at 88 even when changed in camera and router

    App ports all show at 88 even when camera and router ports were set properly to have unique port numbers. What happens is that the cameras using the Foscam app are in conflict with each other. I think it was done on purpose and happened after app upgrade for money making so people would buy new camera, thinking the old were broken. Bad software, bad company.

  • Older camera support gone?

    Won’t let me change settings on older cameras, just says “logging in…” but then won’t go to the setting screen. So I can’t change WiFi, the time, etc anymore. Some newer camera models that I have connect fine. Would be nice if they’d continue to support their older cameras, or at least let us know if they’re dropping support before we update the app.

    Also the app now shows constant ads for cloud services, really annoying to get a full-screen ad every time you pull up a camera. Requires two clicks to get rid of it, too.

  • cant believe this

    Ive had the camera for a few weeks now and it’s constantly having the same issues but now its worse than ever. The camera is always freezing upa nd i have to restart the app but now i have restarted the app multiple times, i have deleted and redownloaded it and i still cant access my camera. im still receiving notification of movement and sound but i cant watch the livefeed. this is ridiculous!!!!!

  • Terrible

    I bought this camera to monitor my home from another city, before I left it was working, but the next day the camera stoped working.
    I spend almost 1 month without any signal or connection, suddenly one day it start working again, for around 3 weeks, until a weak ago from now that i don’t have a connection again.
    My app is updated and I checked the wifi connection of both places, and everything works well, except for this app and camera. I do no recommend this product.

  • Obnoxious Amount of Advertising

    I bought three cameras and they work exactly as I need them to. I don’t want/need cloud services, just the cameras and the app. Exactly what I paid for, no more, no less. Yet EVERYTIME I open the app, I have to decline a never ending list of “special offers” to upgrade my service. 3 cameras means I have to decline each offer 3 times. EVERY. TIME. I. USE. THE. APP.

    I’m considering throwing all three of these in the garbage and buying lesser quality cameras from a company that actually values their customers.

    Would it be that hard to add a “I’m not interested in additional offers” checkbox?

  • Log-in issues

    We’ve been using the app and camera combo as a baby monitor with varying levels of success for 2 years but tonight I can’t make it work at all. We took our camera traveling for the holidays and have gotten pretty good at setting it up at each new location (have to delete existing camera and add “new” even though it’s the same camera). This process involves creating a new user name and password each time and lately this has been an issue. It manifests in two ways: I follow the exact parameters for each and it won’t accept them so the submit button remains unclickable or it accepts them, I click the submit button but then get a “failure to modify” message. So the camera is currently unusable and I have to sleep in the room with the baby until this gets worked out.

  • Updates

    Well, one reviewer said they didn’t get the hate.... if that person had my experience with this app, they would totally get it. With each update I keep thinking it will improve but to my dismay it has dropped even lower. I too have used this app for years and what once worked now has trouble doing a basic connection to the camera. Nothing has changed on my end except for updating the app. Now a remote sign in is not functioning at all. There are times I want to turn off the alarm remotely but the app won’t sign in to the control to do that despite the fact that I’m connected and viewing the camera feed. Help?!?!?!

  • Improving, but still clunky

    First off, I could have sworn that I wrote my first review at least 4 years ago (circa 2017), then updated as conditions warranted. For some reason it’s no longer available.
    Anyway, this app was quite inferior to the 3rd party apps then available. Unfortunately many of those apps have been orphaned or removed from App Store.
    So I’m left with this one. Although it has improved, 3 stars at best (up from 1 star).
