  • Can't log on to remote cameras after closing and reopening.

    I tried to use this app to manage cameras both on local and remote locations. I added multiple cameras manually using the IP address and external port. There was no problem installing the cameras, changing configuration and updating firmware. The problem is when the app is closed and reopened, I am not able to log on to any of the remote cameras. I added the cameras a second and third time with the same result. When the app is closed and reopened, it's impossible to log on to any of the remote cameras.

    UPDATED: Per developer recommendation, I uninstalled cameras and app on my iPhone Xs then reinstalled the app and cameras using DDNS rather than IP. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem. As an FYI, I have been using IP Camera Viewer for many years to view the same cameras without any problem. I wanted to use the Foscam app because it offered more control over the cameras and makes firmware updating easy. However, I can't seem to get it to work on my phone.

  • Zero stars really

    Can I give zero stars? Nothing but trouble since I first set up this camera. App is really only for the higher end cameras and the purchasing of the cloud storage is bate and switch what you actually get. Now after this latest update, camera no longer works. Nothing will log into the app, won’t connect to the WiFi and won’t take a wired Ethernet connection due to the fact that the camera came from the manufacturer without a name and password on the back of the camera (needed for a wired connection.) I’ve rebooted so many times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app a dozen times, NOTHING WORKS. So, I’ve only tried to use the camera and their laughable cloud service for 3 months and it’s been a disaster. No help after 2 weeks of contacting them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY HAVE SEVERAL BBB COMPLAINTS AGAINT THEM.

  • Unreliable

    This app is unreliable and annoying. Alarm alert notifications do not provide information regarding which camera observed unusual activity, requiring the user to open the app and check. Additionally, viewing of recorded alarm activity is unreliable, and sometimes impossible. Finally, the app requires frequent logouts followed by logins in order to receive alarm notifications. This is foolish. I can understand the automatic logouts for purposes of camera or app changes, but a user should remain logged in for purposes of alarm notifications. At the very least, if the user is required to log in, the app should provide a notification as such, rather than simply stop sending alarm notifications without informing the user.

  • FI9900P Motion Detection-Arizona time issues

    Prior iterations of the firmware allowed for three detection areas, the app allows one. The detection area function allowing thee zones was deleted from the web access settings.

    I understand the movement of certain functions to the app is logical and warranted, but multiple areas of detection is important if using the camera for activity monitoring. The level of intensity setting is also problematic.

    It was be helpful if southern Arizona's time uniqueness was addressed.

    The camera and the app as a whole are very well crafted and I haven’t experienced any serious issues that I couldn’t manage.

  • Lots of Holes and Useless 90% of time

    I have owned 4 to 5 Foscam cameras. Here is list of my complaints after using these cameras for three years: 1) I paid for cloud services. But the cameras do not capture or record all the motions occurred. Very frustrating. So after 3 years, I decided to cancel cloud service. 2) Switches to SD Card recorder by placing a SD card in the card slot of the camera. Only learned that I cannot view the recorded videos in the card. Doubling frustrating. 3) After 3 years, I have wasted time and money trusting these lousy cameras, I have decided to throw all away and go with another brand.

  • Live View works when it wants to

    Just not quite up to par with other live camera systems & applications. Newest update made some new progress, just not enough unfortunately.
    I’ve installed and reinstalled everything from the app, the camera, updated firmware, you name it... I’ve even had to go thru the exchange process to have a new camera shipped thinking something was wrong with it. Same thing every time, works for 1-2 days then you get the wheel of death. “Establishing a secure connection with Camera”. Whether your on your home WiFi or not. Funny thing is you can review your recording even a minute prior, but not live.

  • The best home security cameras

    I have had Foscam home security cameras (2 of them) for 3 years and they have been working flawlessly. I also use WyzeCam cameras and they are pretty good, but from my personal experience, they do not have the features and reliability of Foscam. Also I like that I can use either WiFi or Ethernet connections with Foscam and the recent software update makes accessing your recordings even easier.

  • Not reliable

    Since the last update on October 22, when I go to my notifications it defaults to month 07/19. I have to open up the calendar and go to today’s date. But then it doesn’t work the first time and I have to go to today’s date one more time. The cameras also constantly go off from wind no matter what sensitivity I have it on. These were expensive and don’t work half the time. Also, no battery available for purchase, you have to buy a whole new camera. Going to another system.

  • Fine when it works.... when it works.

    My first review ever.

    This camera is great when it works. The problem is getting it to work. If you are monitoring anything of importance (little ones in the crib for example) I would highly suggest looking elsewhere for the connection and ability to connect is less than reliable. If you let the camera attempt to “Establish a secure connection with camera” it will fail 9/10 times.

    Disclaimer - this could just be my cameras (Plural I have 2) but I find it unlikely. I possess 2 cameras (and have for 2+ years).

    Again I will say when this camera works it is great. The night vision allows me to see across the room and clearly. Unfortunately the negative aspects of dealing with the app have caused me to break my review silence and write this review. If the connection issue would be resolved and i could fire it up to check on my sleeping toddler on demand without fail this review could be updated.

  • New update won’t switch to full screen view

    The app on iPad works fine; however the option to switch to a full screen when turning the iPad horizontal is no longer working. The use for this app on the iPad was ideal as you could have a large, full screen for security/baby camera ... but now that went away. **Strong recommendation to reintroduce the full screen option**
