Extremely please with this company. They have assisted me several times with a quick and professional response. I highly recommend anyone who seeks this type of service to give them the opportunity to gain your business and confidence futuristically.
Thank you again for your assistance.

Not forthcoming about limits

The app works well. The interface is easy to use. However, there is a 20 trip per month limit with this app. That obviously means if you are wanting to track mileage for a full time job, you’ll have to pay in order to keep this app.

They didn’t say anything about a limit until I hit it. How dishonest. I will not be keeping the app. And at this point I won’t be downloading any other app made by this developer ever again if I can help it.

You also need to put that limit in the app synopsis. People need to know about the charge before they download the app. That’s the thing that seems dishonest to people. A simple statement like “The free version of Driversnote includes 20 trips logs. After that we ask $9.99 per month.” That would be create a much better experience for your users. But, then again, you wouldn’t get as people to try the app if you put that on the download page would you? Again, it looks like you are trying to hide your limits and pricing structure from the public when you don’t disclose them before a person commits to the download. That is the problem I had with the whole situation. Charge money or don’t charge money, I really don’t care. But let people know about the charges before they subscribe to your product

Hi Snarf, thanks for your review. To you and everyone else reading this: Yes, there is a 20 trip limit in reports that you will have to pay to surpass. You can still track as many trips as you like and we'll save the data. We try to say this as often as we can here in reviews, in emails, on our website in the pricing section. We do not intentionally try to be dishonest, and I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Good luck on the roads, Thomas

Not bad

Honestly, does an amazing job with keeping up with the GPS.
It doesn’t work for my job. I ran the app on a month to month subscription for a while before purchasing a year subscription. I tried without and with the iBeacon.
Pros: GPS is accurate to your drive path
Easy to use website for creating reports
Nice feature to be able to set working hours
Cons: Using the iBeacon, it does not time out the trip so I end up having trips combined into one big trip. Instead of being able to go back and place a reason, I have to edit the entire trip.

If I didn’t have to babysit the app, I would be more than happy to continue using this to log my mileage. It was taking me longer to fill out my paperwork using this than to fill it out manually. If the iBeacon timed out after not moving for, say, more than five minutes, I feel this would improve the functionality of the app.

Pretty decent app

The app does what it’s supposed to do, which is track your mileage. A small warning, however, is that it stops tracking if you’ve been still for 2 hours. This is fine in case you forget to stop tracking, but if you are just stationary for a long time you have to remember to restart the tracker. Also, this restarting counts as a whole new trip as there is no way to edit a trip to make it a “round trip”. My theory is that they do this because the free version only lets you have 20 trips per month, so if you’re like me and travel for work but then are in one spot for a long period you can easily hit your 20 trip limit in only 10 work days.

So much easier than a log book

The app is really easy to use and makes life easier being able to create a monthly report for work. The beacon logs trips without me needing to do anything. I have noticed occasionally it has a lag and took about 1km to kick in. The manual trip entry is easy too. The only downside is it often only gives one route option, so it’s not always as accurate if you use back roads between towns, but that’s where the beacon is better.

Thank you very much for your review!

Good with minor issue

I’ve been using this app for nearly a year now. It works well, but seems to forget it’s recording my trip after a few minutes. Once I reactivate the app, it acts as though it just woke up from a nap and records a straight shot from where it “fell asleep at the wheel” to where my destination is, not following any roads and gypping me several miles driven (it’s as though I was in a flying car for a while, cruising above roads, houses and buildings). Besides that, it seems to work well.

Very useful app

I was looking for good apps that can help me counting my mileage for work requirement, until I found this one. I tried several other apps, but I settle with this one, as I found easiest to use. Once I joined the subscription, it allows me to log more than 20 trips.
I really found it invaluable especially after I had issue with my phone and it got reset, I lost all my apps and need to use the backup. Luckily this app collect all the trips that I had right before the reset happens (so I didn’t have to redo them at all).
The only issue is I don’t know how to edit the mileage (or edit starting point), if I forgot to start the apps in the beginning of my journey, and only starting trip recoding in middle of my journey (I just put it on the note). This won’t be a problem for people with the electronic tag I guess.

Hi DJ, thanks for your rating and review! We've made a choice that our users shouldn't be able to directly edit their miles driven, so it's no wonder you can't find the option to do that. The short version why is that it creates more inconsistencies than what people are usually happy with. I suggest you delete your half-tracked trips and create one manually instead. This will give you the choice of three routes you've taken between your starting point and your destination. Happy tracking, Thomas

Real customer support

When I subscribed, due to a spelling error in my email address I lost a few months of logged trips. Customer support was excellent, they found my missing data and were very helpful. Thanks!

Hi there, thank you for your review. We are very happy to hear that you found our support team helpful!

Invaluable for tracking my kilometres but...

This app is so good it probably deserves a 5 star rating. Easy to use, multiple vehicles (or in my case, same vehicle 3 different businesses), it starts tracking me as soon as I get in the vehicle (with paid version) and it punches out analytics. It is ATO (Australian Tax Authority) approved so it will make submitting my km’s, for tax deduction, to “the man” easy.

Here’s where it loses the 5th star. The paid version is highly expensive. Well, for an independent sole trader at least. What I didn’t know is that the app only gives 20 trips per month for free. The paid version cost me a whopping $165 aud per year. Sure it comes with that handy tracking fob that you just drop in your vehicle and forget about, but not at the cost of that. I shouldn’t complain, I do like it, and I did splash the cash when I was rapidly spending money to launch a new business. But, I may research and move to another, more affordable, option next year.

If you’ve got the money this is a 5 star app. If you’re a struggling entrepreneur like me, you may want to do your research. But I do love the functionality and ease of use. Thanks.

Hi Words, and thanks for your great review. This kind of feedback is really valuable to us, and I appreciate that you took the time. Can I ask what you'd consider a better price? Best wishes, Thomas

The app works phenomenally!

I truly love that I have found an amazing app to track all my trips. As a business owner of a house cleaning business, I am constantly driving all over town and I was needing a mileage tracker for my tax purposes. And I LOVE using Driversnote over anything else I’ve tried. It has truly made my life so much easier. It’s so simple to change trips from Personal to Business or vice versa, and also enter a trip manually if for some reason it didn’t auto-track a trip for me. But the auto-track feature is amazing and just connects through Bluetooth in your vehicle. For only $9.50/mo, this app and tracker is SO worth it for my business and it’s definitely the easiest and simplest one I’ve found. Thank you Driversnote!!!
