  • Extensive editor

    Learning curve, but fantastic capabilities
  • Impressive

I'm really impressed by this app. Has useful features that no other iOS photo editor app has.
  • One of the Best!

This is the best photo editor used, pretty much Photoshop, but definitely for a better bargain!
  • THE BEST!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is definitely the best app I've bought and I never regret buying at all! A must-have if you just want to play around with your photos on your phone or if you want your photos professionally done right in your palm! I can delete all the other photo editing apps now!
  • Delivers on its Promise

This app fully lives up to its description with a comprehensive set of tools and effects and is now my photo editing app of choice. It is well designed and very easy to use on both my iPhone and iPad. My 6 year old grandchildren use it to produce their own original drawings too. Full compatibility with the OS X version is a useful bonus.

  • Great!

This app has many great ways to change and perfect your pictures from whole picture changes like adding lens flares, sharpening or blurring the image, or adjusting the saturation, contrast, and lighting with a few clicks. You can also use a (finger) brush tool to make minute and focused adjustments, and there is an awesome repair tool to fix any mistakes within the picture (it is extremely surprising how well it works). There are lots of other things that you can use to change your pictures, and this app is VERY affordable. I would recommend it 100%

Some things that I would like to request are buttons to adjust the contrast/lighting/saturation levels by a percentage at a time so that minute adjustments can be made. Also if a picture preview could be used to make sure you know which image you want to use. I’ve noticed that if I have a lot of similar images , I am doing a lot of guess and check to make sure I have the right image. And if that can’t be done, a “replace” option would be nice rather than what is there now. It would also be convenient if you could take photos from your library and open them in the app. Now, I don’t know much about app making, so I don’t know what is or isn’t feasible, but all of these things would be great to see in the app.

All in all, this photo editor is fantastic, and I

would recommend it to anyone. It’s very affordable and very useful.!!!

  • Pixelmator is now universal! Fantastic app that is fun to use

UPDATE: If there's one feature I could request it would be a button that lets you see the photo before the last edits without hitting the undo button then hitting the redo button.

Original Review: I bought pixelmator when it was for iPad only and it was so nice to get the new iPhone version for free! Pixelmator is a very powerful photo editing app that has everything you'd want to create a better looking picture. It has editing tools that the competition doesn't have (eg repair and warp tools) and incredible painting tools that set it apart from the rest. Now that it's universal between iOS and Mac it's so easy to be able to edit your photos wherever you are and then go to another device and see all the pictures you've edited in pixelmator. Great update, and you won't regret buying it :)

  • Not there yet, it is not finished compare to competition

It is certainly better user interface than their Mac version, but still lacks some must have tools compared to competition, and it has one major turn off: it does reduce the size of files. So, my 16 and 24 megapixel images comes out as just a touch bigger than 11 megapixel. It is 2015, Pixelmator guys, and everyone already shoots more than 11 MP capable cameras, even smartphones have crossed that line!!! When I go on photo trip I usually choose my tablet over heavy laptop to edit my photos on the go, and there is no no no to the apps which degrade your files, as I dont want later to re-edit photos when back to my computer to have maximum possible quality.
Pixelmator would be good for casual quick edit, but pro users who do final edit on tablet pc's would be better off using Photogenie or Filterstorm which are loaded with more tools and most importantly allows you to save your work in full quality and more file type options, you can even upscale your photos!

  • It's promising...

Ever since the death of PhotoForge² (my it RIP next to Sparrow, Poster, KitCam, and now Photoshop Touch) I have been searching for a worthy replacement. While this app doesn't allow me to finally delete PhotoForge off my phone as PhotoForge is still the only app that supports layer masks, it does mostly fill in for the other features. A few other things: Pixelmator for iPhone is lightning fast. I put it through the works and was only able to make it stall on while making a large selection on a huge panoramic image. However, if you do something like adjust a layer's curves (which unfortunately cannot be adjusted in the individual channels yet) it happens in real time and the histogram is updated as you drag your finger around. No other app I have found has both this solid drawing engine and can do general photo editing. Hopefully in the future every feature of the desktop app will be present on the iPhone and the only slow down in editing will come from what is inherent with the form factor.

  • The best there is, but still lacks some basic functions

This really is very good, it allows layers and has some very nice editing functions. However, it lacks a few basic functions such as noise reduction, shadow/highlight increments, vibrancy controls etc. I say this because it is touted as a photoshop alternative, but it really isn't there just yet. I hope future updates will add at least noise reduction, it's annoying having to first load a photo into photoshop touch, then load it up again in Pixelmator and then once more into Snapseed before finally saving. It's a lot of unnecessary steps.
