  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

    I will never buy another Onkyo product again. I have had a an average experience with my Onkyo TX-616 and I put up with sending it back twice because I liked the app and features. Recently, the app stopped working. I emailed tech support and they said Apple changed something in the network stack, which I believe. Thanks APPLE (not really)- for breaking several of my networked devices. But, what I am more upset about is that Onkyo is not going to fix the Remote 3 app. Any suggestions on another brand of receiver to buy?

  • Can you update app

    This app worked fine until since recently Apple updated IOS and now doesn’t open. Can onkyo please update the app
  • App just crashes

    Used the app for a couple years with no issues, but now it just crashes as it’s launching. Tried on my iPhone 7 Plus and the 11 Pro Max - same issue. Please fix it!
  • App doesn’t open

    App doesn’t open — crashes each time, even after reinstalling. I guess that’s the end of the review. Question is though, would you trust these guys to make an amp if they can’t even make an iPhone app that opens?
  • Doesn’t work with iOS 13.5

    It just briefly opens splash screen then exits. Please update to be compatible. Those of us with older Onkyo models need this app.

    Onkyo support confirmed via email they have no plans to update this app for iOS compatibility. They provided no indication an y other app will be provided to support older model receivers. Basically they have decided to leave customers without a solution but apologized fir the “inconvenience “. Thanks for not supporting 5 year old product Onkyo!

  • So disappointed

    We use this app to play music throughout the house. It worked for 4 years. Starting this past week, anytime I open it, it crashes. The WiFi trick doesn’t work. It worked once. It is very disappointing that I can’t use my speakers in my home with my onkyo receiver at this point. I used this app daily. We are considering buying a different receiver. What a waste of money on the onkyo one.

  • Workaround for the App Crash Issue

    Someone posted this earlier but no one else has mentioned it. I tried this workaround and was finally able to use the app.

    Before opening the Remote 3 app, turn off Wi-Fi on your iPhone. Open the app and it will give you the “No Wi-Fi Connection” message. At that point, turn Wi-Fi back on and the app will connect to your device as it normally would. However, if you switch to another app or once your iPhone auto-locks, you will have to disable Wi-Fi before returning to the app or it will crash again.

    It’s not a solution, but it will allow you to use the app if you really need it. Prior to doing this I had also tried the Integra Remote app and it had the same issue. Hopefully Onkyo fixes this.

    Like others has suddenly stopped working. Not been impressed with my first piece of onkyo hardware over the years and now this makes it my last piece of onkyo hardware.
