  • Remote 3 App Stopped Working!!

    Called Onkyo and was told to write to admin. Two days after submission of my email informing them that the Remote 3 app was not loading on my iPhone 8 after a software upgrade I get a note back saying they are aware of the issue, but “we do not have information of the resolution.” A real non-answer. It has been 10 days, still no resolution.

    Think twice about investing your hard earned $ in a company that does not support its products. They no longer update their music apps for my receiver, no longer have a wireless chip, no longer have replace remotes knowing the volume buttons fail, no longer update the firmware.

  • No updates from Onkyo for 3 years and now its stopped working

    Two iPads, both on the latest iOS and today the app just loads and closes immediately.

    Come on onkyo, if you read these reviews and want to keep your customers, do something about it

    The app has worked without fault for years and all of a sudden over the last few months it’s just stopped working. To be specific you open the app and it immediately closes. All obvious troubleshooting steps have been done; check for updates, remote device, reinstall app, update hardware firmware etc.

  • Can’t even load anymore

    Used to work fine, but the app crashes every time it’s being loaded. There could definitely be some more time on development used here.

    Started to look for another product purely due to app performance

    Like a few others it’s worked fine for years now when I open it, it just closes down immediately. Reinstalled app, made no difference.

    Wasn’t the best off apps, but was enough to use is remotely to control zones and volume. As of about 2 weeks ago, app doesn’t even open. Crashes when trying to open the app. It’s a pity that it doesn’t work and the receiver is not even 3 years old.

    Hopefully Onkyo takes note and fixes the issue.

  • Stopped working this week

    My wife and I have been using this app for the last year to control the outdoor speakers I connected using the zone 2 set-up on our Onkyo TX NR686. Unfortunately this week, the app stopped working with our iPhones.

    It’s crashes immediately after opening it.
    It probably has something to do with an iOS software upgrade but it’s disappointing. It wasn’t a perfect app but it was useful.

    I’ve tried downloading other Onkyo apps but they don’t work either. I feel this is an important receiver feature that needs to be supported by Onkyo.

    I’m starting to shop for another receiver from a different manufacturer.
