Disappointing reverted to Onkyo 2, took a simple elegant app and made it convoluted and annoying. Also all versions wifi drops out about every 20min so unstable. TX 8050 not sure if app or receiver but pretty much useless with cutting out. Zone 2 volume hard to find and cNt choose iphone as source zone 2. Did Onkyo hire a mole to sabotage them! Cant see how any development executive could say “hey ya lets change our cool app for a piece of garbage” WTH is Onkyo doing ....👋Show lessAnnoyed guy 246.5

My remote failed after 8 years. Ordered another then thought maybe there’s an app. Being as my receiver was purchased in 2009 I was amazed that there was an app an compatible with mine. Only complaint is same as others. Would be nice if it maintained the connection, even for a bit, when you flip to another app and back.Show lessSoulsuit
Really bad interface design
The buttons are labelled poorly if at all.
The controls rarely act as expected and most importantly even after restarting mobile device rarely K’NEX without problems to the Onkyo.

Works well with my new Onkyo TX-8140 receiver
I can’t use the standard remote because I don’t have direct line of sight access to the receiver. This iOS app solves that perfectly and is easy to use. My primary music source right now is Pandora and I’m delighted to see full Pandora functionality from within the Onkyo app. Looking forward to testing alternative source inputs from the app but I have no reason to believe that there will be any issues.Show lessChuck27now
Much better than using the remote!
Jan 2018: I just got this app after years of using the actual remote control. Day and night difference. My only complaint is when changing source, XM to Pandora for example, mutes the audio. It should play until I make my new choice. GET THIS IF YOU HAVE AN Onkyo.PaulKeedy

Used to work, and loved it! The app changed, with several functions missing.
Since I’ve tried to use this app in Nov 2017, all I can do is turn the receiver on, but nothing else. Deleted and added the app several times, rebooted my phone, no change.

I thought I would download this from my bedroom because I was too lazy to walk over to the living room and turn on my onkyo system. It worked flawlessly , turned on changed stations and adjusted volume. AmazingHfmorales
