Overall I do enjoy this app. However when my phone was stolen while abroad it was impossible for me to access my account because I was using a different phone number and unable to get verification codes. Even though on the phone I was able to answer all of the security questions, ssc, etc no one was able to get me into my account. There needs to be some sort of kill switch, break in feature or other verification options like email or a secondary number that can be reached on the bank side to help customers in these cases. It nearly made me switch banks, despite liking everything else.

NBKC Bank

I have multiple accounts with NBKC and all are online. I use their mobile app for my business and personal banking. I have never been more happy with a banking institution. They have a small town feel while being large enough to be used anywhere in the country. I have called them and have always have had everything resolved within mins to hours. I love NBKC and I will not bank elsewhere.

Amazing Bank & Impressed!

NBKC Bank has been wonderful from the beginning! I was looking for a second-chance bank because of my past mistakes and I am in Chex systems. I applied and was approved! I have been a customer since August and this has been the best banking experience I have ever experienced from a financial institution. Customer care is phenomenal, beyond kind, and very professional. The mobile app is well-organized, great security features, great benefits such as cash back, and great ATM network! This bank has made me trust banks again to hold my money and they have a customer for life. Best decision I made was becoming a customer. Thank you for the fantastic customer care and amazing products for customers!!!!!!!!!

Some Ideas to run by the development team!

Just a list of ideas I know new cards are coming soon I’m excited for that. I’d love to see a new cash-back type of account option obviously some overdraft option some sort of investment service would be great. Maybe some home page customization and some sort of reward program for keeping a good balance or history or for using your debit card I would also absolutely love to see some way of looking/checking my credit score and maintaining it like keeping tabs on it. Look at what makes cash app and chime so good take from them combine them and NBKC could pass j.p Morgan chase please run it by the team no better feedback then from customers do a poll for that matter put up a board on the homepage and let customers vote on future updates so we can all grow together.

Bumpy at first

The app is a little bumpy at first. The layout is a little unorthodox from the apps I’m used to using but once you figure out where everything is it smooth out and becomes as good as the bank account itself. If you haven’t given nbkc a try you should give it one thought. Sign up is easy and you know in a matter of seconds if your approved or not. No minimum balance and no best of all no monthly fees. Great app and great account highly recommended.

Awful.

Somehow not just this app but the bank are worse than drinking the last inch of water in a dog bowl. Zero communication when theres an issue with your account, doesn't let you know when your card is disabled, theres no pattern learning for places you shop regularly, and I've had to go through 4 cards in the last 2 years.. On top of that, over all ive had $1400 frauded out of my account, and although the purchases were made in Jersey they were not reimbursed… I also have been flagged a fraud at this point almost weekly and i now get nervous whenever i need to pay for something. I feel like my money is just sitting outside on my front porch for anyone to take and i have no control over it, the app doesn't even give you all the information you need to access and you cant close your card on your own. Im finally switching to a different institution that will care about my access to my own money, i made this review after my card flagged and closed again…. And the rate our app popped up.

So much more than I was expecting!

I really like the NBKC app. It helps me get paid easily. The people who help me on the phone are nice and friendly. The app was easy to start using. And I can take credit card payments with my phone, like a swiper.

In short, the NBKC app is great. It makes getting paid simple, and the people on the phone are friendly. It's easy to use, and I can accept credit cards on my phone. It's a win!

Clunky Design & Interface

First, I appreciate all the features that the NBKC Bank has to offer, but it looks and feels like the app and site were fashioned after Facebook and Twitter circa late 2000s.

Maybe it’s the blue & white everywhere — why do all the pro apps go for blue & white? There are a whole load of colors out there that can make an app stand out, but everyone justs to be like everyone else by going for blue & white?

It would be nice to be able to customize the layout of both the mobile and web app, especially for grouping accounts together under a certain theme such as home expenses.

Maybe add drop shadows too in the dashboard interface, so that it looks less flat. I don’t get why the only thing under “More” in the top-right corner is: Transfer Money Now. …why? That can easily be placed in the menu instead of placing it as the only thing there in the corner. In fact, just please create as few submenus as possible in the main menu with drop-down menus containing similar actions to save room and to group every one easily into the same area for us to find and use.

Great App!

It’s very user friendly. It provides most of what you need. The navigation ability to different tabs super easy. I haven’t had any problems or experienced bug issues. I own a business account with NBKC. Customer service it’s easy to reach except on the weekends, they are closed. They can be reached through the app as well. In every experience I’ve had in speaking with someone I have never been disappointed. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Very respectful and kind as well, they will go out of their way to ensure your issue or questions are resolved or answered.

Decent but sometimes frustrating.

It’s pretty intuitive. I like many of the fast features and Face ID ability to log in. However, what is super annoying for power checks is when you deposit online, you have to write “for mobile deposit” on every single one. Every single time. No other online bank I’ve used requires this. Also, they continue to lower APR frequently. When I initially signed up I was earning about 1.5%. Currently I’m at like 0.4%. So yeah, glitter will eventually fade I guess.
