  • It was Brilliant, now it’s a Nightmare.

I’ve had this app for twelve months, and up until these last couple of weeks, it’s been absolutely brilliant. It tracked everything it needed to track and there was never a glitch. It was a good, simple, useful app.

This last update - totally changing everything from the interface to the various forms of data that can be entered and tracked - has ruined it completely.

I have twice had to delete one project and start over as amending word counts on previous diary entries has messed up the total word count, and there’s no way to manually amend it. This has wasted so much time, re-entering all my word counts, times and accepting the loss of the extensive notes. That’s not to mention that doing so is no simple task thanks to the terrible calendar that takes you back to the main page after entering anything.

That’s not it’s only issue. The app changes the daily word limit of its own accord, and consequently offers target dates and daily word counts that I do not want and when I manually change them, it changes them back.

Accessing diary entries for previous days doesn’t seem possible, if you have more than one entry each day, as so far I cannot seem to access more than one entry on any given day.

I can see that the idea was to make something more elaborate, but the attempt has rendered it untrustworthy and all but useless to me. I am really really disappointed. This was not a cheap app.

Thank you for the constructive feedback, it really helps us in making Word Keeper better. It absolutely should not mess up your word counts when amending previous entries, if you run into that again please let us know so we can investigate and fix the issues. You can “unlock” the word count and deadline from changing one another by tapping the “lock” icon between the daily word count and deadline. It is possible to access diary entries by swiping to that date, then swiping on the diary entries (card under the date). We do understand that this may not be the most intuitive way and we are looking into ways to make is more easily understandable. We regret that it feels like it is taking more time than it is worth to enter and update your data, we are looking into better ways to make it more simple and easy. Thanks again for your feedback, we love getting direct input from our users so feel free to contact us at contact@wordkeeper.app so we can make Word Keeper what you want it to be.
  • Stick with it! Great App!

It’s back! All the features writers need to stay on track are here! This app is truly is a game-changer for writers. There’s nothing like it out there—believe me, I’ve looked. Plus, the developers are amazing and very willing to address any concerns.

Thank you! It’s users like you that make Word Keeper what it is. 🤗
  • Subscription-based app.

This is just another “free” app that makes you buy a subscription to use it. Sure, there is a 7 day free trial, but I downloaded the app assuming it was genuinely free. Creatives don’t have money.
  • Love this!

This app was really good before... with the redesign it’s even better!! I love the clean new look. It’s easier and more intuitive to use. It’s exactly what I need to keep track of my daily progress. Thank you!!
  • Less a review, more a question

I noticed the new version came out, but am I expected to pay for the app again on a subscription basis even though I paid for it before the change to a subscription model?
  • Hate the update 😩

It’s so cold and clinical looking now, all the charm and vibrancy is gone. Hopefully new color schemes are offered, because this is depressing to look at.
  • Deceptive

When you purchase this app, you only get a 1 week period to try it. What kind of an app do you buy, but then have to buy another subscription to use? Either the app is free and you pay a subscription OR you pay for the app to use. NOT BOTH! Wasted money.
  • Can’t sign in

When I click “sign in with Google” the app immediately crashes so can’t use it. I don’t use Facebook or Twitter so other login options don’t work for me.
  • Love this app

There's not much I have to say. This app has been incredibly helpful to me and keeps me motivated. However, when I enter a writing deadline, the amount of days left is wrong for me. It's days shorter than it should be. This drastically messes up the amount of words I should write per day. I work around it by putting the wrong date to get the right amount of days left

Thanks for the review! We are in the process of a new version that will fix this issue along with a whole bunch of other goodies. Thanks for using Word Keeper! 😊
  • Serviceable

I wish I could log my time without entering a word count/deadline when I want to, and also figure out why the timer has stopped sounding, but other than that this app serves my needs pretty well.
