  • Terrible bible choice

First of all, the KJV is the hardest of all to read because it doesn’t use English we use today. “A cup of coffee” is expensive when taking into account the fact that they don’t have any good CATHOLIC versions of the Bible. I’m not going to pay for this “coffee” if it doesn’t have a complete bible in its options. Based on the other reviews, I’m glad I didn’t waste the $4.99 because people can’t even log into their subscriptions. Too bad, I was very excited to try such a revolutionary idea. I would donate the $4.99 or more likely $20 if the app were free and for people who don’t have a steady income.

If you want to charge $5 to grow the faith and that’s your mission, start with a much better bible version. THAT will get people to join the app and start reading the Word God gave to us.

  • Excellent tool for memorizing Scripture.

I have used this for a few weeks and find it a good tool to use. I use it 5 minutes a day. App uses listening, reading, speaking, putting verse in order, and 4 levels of fill in the blank. Did not give it a 5 star rating because the speaking out part does not work (although that could be my fault) and because when I’ve tried listening to the verse, it sounds a chopped robotic clip, much like the first gps units that came out a decade ago. And the pronunciation isn’t always correct. It’s a measured but not rhythmic audio. What I do like is the ordering, filling in blanks, and typing out features. You can choose your own verses to memorize or choose a collection. This tool also helps me to choose to memorize and facilitates daily activity.

  • Disappointed

This used to be a fantastic resource and I gladly recommended it to many other people. Unfortunately, now that it has gone to a subscription only version, I can no longer do that. It is one thing to require an in app purchase of your favorite bible version (which I gladly did) but to require an ongoing subscription purchase is quite another. I’m just glad I was able to share this incredible app with many others before it went with the subscription model. It had made “hiding God’s Word in my heart” easy and fun. I had never been able to memorize scripture before, but with this app I was able to memorize whole books of the Bible and long passages as well. If you are willing to buy a subscription, this is still a great app, but many people I’ve talked with aren’t able to do that. I am sad about this change.

  • As a spiritual habit:🔥 As an app: 😅

I’ve been using this app for over a year and love it! It’s super helpful for memorizing scripture - it’s as accessible as a game but it’s eternally more valuable! Aesthetically pleasing too. I love using it for a few minute’s during my morning devotional time or right before bed. It does run a bit slow when you have a lot of verses or longer portions of scripture saved, and I had some issues with random crashes and being unable to delete passages (in hopes of making it run smoother) but that was on my iPhone 6 (yes it’s 2020 and I just graduated to an iPhone 8) and so far with the newer phone I haven’t had the same problems (:

  • What it worth to you?

I’ve had this app on my phone for almost 4 years now. The beginning stages were rough at times but the main pieces of the structure has always been EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

Developer support has greatly helped push the app along since then, but know on the front side ITS A SUBSCRIPTION BASED SERVICE. Obviously, this is to help pay those who are keeping the app together. If you could’ve experienced the app before the subscription, trust me, how much better it flows now and syncs with other people is truly fantastic.

This app has significantly impacted my ability to retain the truths of God’s word in my heart. If you’re at all considering, it’s worth your time and money, seriously.

  • Potential

I love the idea of this app! And I want to love the app, there’s just a few things that need improvement:
    1. Right now I can’t switch bible versions, the whole app freezes when I press the KJV button that should allow me to switch versions
    2. The “speak out” function is SUPER BUGGY, it started working for the first few words and then started marking everything as wrong/red even though I was carefully and slowing reciting my verses correctly.
    3. It would be awesome if there was a way to section off large sections because trying to work on a whole chapter is frustrating for instance the reorder game is ridiculous with a whole chapter, but I’d like to memorize the whole chapter! This just needs rethinking

  • I am memorizing like never before

Several passages that have been hard for me to memorize word for word are now locked in to my mind as a result of using this app. It was always hard for me to memorize short passages and the series of tasks the app takes me through made it possible le. Now I’m tackling longer passages and am very pleased to see how quickly I’m able to recall them. After spending time in the app getting the point I can type the passage out successfully, Memorized, I’m able to repeat the passage in my mind while going about my day, say it out loud, and consider the passage during times of prayer without having to pull out my phone or a Bible.

I REALLY wish that it offered a newer Spanish translation such as Reina Valera Contemporanea.

  • Exactly what I needed!

I memorized a lot of scripture as a kid in church, but haven’t memorized very consistently as an adult. When I saw the ad for this app on Facebook, I decided to see if it would encourage me to memorize more. I have really enjoyed it so far. I am re-memorizing some longer passages that I memorized as a student, and starting some new ones as well. The games are really helpful, and I really like the way the “type out” feature works. You just provide the first letter and the app fills in the word. This has been especially helpful because I have memorized a lot of these passages in several different versions, so it’s easy to get the words mixed up a little bit.

  • I wish I’d found this sooner.

I’ve absolutely loved using Verses. I’ve wanted to memorise more scripture for a while now, and Verses has helped me do that. It has helpful games and a really easy to use app, so I’ve really enjoyed being able to learn wherever.
  • I’m so thankful for this app

I want to give a huge thank to all the developers for this app. I’ve been wanting to memorize the scriptures better for a long time until I found this! It’s very effective to me! You guys had a great start on this app, and I know there’s more to explore and perfect. I just have some trouble with the “word bank” game. Is it possible to make it stay at the level where I’m at when I leave and come back for the same passage within the same day? I was at level 4 and I left the passage and it went back to level 1. I’m looking forward to more updates on this app. Thank the Lord for leading you into making this app and may the Lord bless you!
