This is the only truly innovative Australian bank

I've use quite a number of Australian banks this is the only BANK genuinely is innovative. All the others claim to lead in the area of technology. This BANK actually walks the talk you can upload receipts linked to transactions, you can write notes related to transactions and it's search function actually works. And I don't believe it has one of those ridiculous bots that claim to help you but just waste your time etc etc

BEST Bank & APP ever

This is a very classy simple app that has a lot under the Bonnet. It’s clean, design and extensive range of expenses available along with Halle it produces insights into your spending is in genius. I would highly recommend downloading this app using it so that you can understand just how good it is. A lot of other banks I’ve used like UP, I bloated with all of these things that you don’t need colours options things just simply not required. Macquarie makes it simple, straightforward, clean, classy with all the information you require. I look forward to remaining with Macquarie and Seain the continued growth in there app. In all their marketing, and now having just joined them, I can confidently say;
“I bank with Macquarie” Well done guys. Seriously no wonder you’ve won the 2022 awards across-the-board simply outstanding

Smooth customer journey - NOT.

Downloaded your app cause’ the Macquarie Online Savings Account promotional page said to. Mind you, the App Store redirect/download button on the page was broken on iOS Chrome, so I looked up and download the app all by myself (whee). Followed all prompts, opened a transactions account (the default), only to NOT be able to open an Online Savings Account - which was the whole point. “Once you've opened your transaction account, you can quickly link a savings account by selecting ‘Open an account’ on the ‘Accounts’ page.” That’s what your website says. However; there IS NO “Open an account” option on the “Accounts” page. Kinda’ broken CX journey Macquarie; thanks for that -.-

Thanks for the MFA!

As everyone else has said, great app with great features that is a joy to use.

The one feature I’d like to call out however is the proper MFA implementation. It baffles me how many banks still use SMS MFA and give no flexibility on when MFA is required. It’s well known now that SMS MFA has vulnerabilities, so it’s very nice to see someone taking this seriously and allowing me to require MFA for just about anything - rather than just transferring money.

Thanks Macquarie team, keep up the great work!

‘2 Hidden Dashboard Tiles’

So the app is mostly beautiful and well made - but who decided to keep the ‘x hidden dashboard tiles’ constantly visible? If I swipe them away to hide them, I don’t want them replaced by some text saying I have hidden them there forever reminding me there are hidden items. What makes it worse is one of the hidden notifications is for importing pay contacts - I’m not giving out my other banks login details to anyone or any service for security reasons, and I’m quite surprised I’m being asked to by a bank. Apart from that it’s really nice just...why clutter it up with what is essentially spam? I already have a savings account with Macquarie but it’s still asking me to start my savings journey. Also, a dark mode option would be nice (not just copying the system-wise dark mode preference, as I’d prefer dark mode in-app, but prefer system-wide light mode). Anyhow, thank you for your effort, it is for the most part really nice, functional, and pleasing to the eye.

PS - please implement Osko soon!

Implement Pay ID properly pls Macquarie...

I really like the Macquarie app as good balance of features and simplicity. Development seems to have stalled over last 12 months with only cosmetic improvements.

Biggest problem with Macquarie for banking is delays with payments in and out. There is an industry in wide solution with real-time payments via NPP/Pay ID. This has been out for over a year now. Macquarie has it only half implemented with payments in but not out. I need to be able to pay people. Payments in also don’t work from all the banks eg Westpac (where it says not supported every time I try to pay my Macquarie account)

When is Pay ID going to be properly implemented ? It is becoming the default way to pay people and overcomes one of Macquaries biggest issues for everyday banking ? Would have thought it would be a bigger priority.

Best Macquarie app but one small thing.

I’m gonna keep this simple. I really like the app! Fun and easy to use. All I would like to say is that there is only one small problem. If you make an extra bank account or another bank account on accident, can you let us delete it if possible not via the website but on the app. Like when we click the account and say delete it a sign should always pop up and say “You have money in this account can not delete until all transferred!”, or something like that. I would really appreciate it if you guys could add this change. Anyways thanks for the magnificent app!!!

Unbeatable bank in Australia

If you’re looking for a solid bank that offers an incredible online experience for its customers, look no further. Macquarie bank services are transparent, they offer the lowest fees ever for a transaction account in Australia (without having to meet certain “bonus” conditions). Zero international transaction and withdrawal fees included. The app is smooth, intuitive and simple, while being complete at the same time. Customer service is excellent and 24/7. I’ve tried many banks in Australia and without doubt I can say that I love banking with Macquarie - there’s nothing like it.

More a toy than a real app...

Coming from CBA, the Macquarie app feels like a kids’ toy. This app has probably 1/10th of the functionalities you’d expect from a modern bank. The same is true for the Macquarie online website. I’m horrified by how limited the options for customers are.
Look at CBA and you’ll see the difference. The other reviews here are either fake (there are only a handful and they are all ultra-enthusiastic...) or left by people who have never tried a better banking app.
A pity, because this bank was suggested to me by my financial advisor, and now I’m “stuck” with this pseudo-app.
Hopefully they’ll get up to speed soon!
I gave 2 stars because the app is so limited, but at least it’s got a nice branding and it’s pretty polished (animations, UI/UX).

Best banking App!

Love this app and the features offered by Macquarie. Great financial products that are extremely competitive and apps are very useful.

A few suggestions that would make the app a leader well ahead of the pack:
1. Budgets - Allow budgets to be created at the parent category level - this is very useful for things like mobile phone and internet services where it’s a fixed monthly amount every month
2. Categories - I have to change it every time, just remember what I set the category for that merchant to be. Would love my own categories too. CBA do this well.
3. The search has a slow UI behaviour sometimes, especially when you have to wait a second for it to load the transactions in a single category
4. Upcoming payments - I’d love to see a list of direct debit schedules on a calendar, that way I know on any given day what I’m going to be charged for
6. Can you increase some of the font sizes on a desktop browser?

Final ideas:
It’d be AMAZING if categories worked off a variable dollar or threshold amount for the merchant. E.g. I might buy lunch one day from my coffee shop, the transaction value is going to be irregular (e.g $15) compared to my normal spend for a coffee ($4) and category being ‘coffee’, it’d be great if the category changed to be ‘meals’ on it’s own based off the dollar amount.
