Great account but a few little improvements needed
The main downfall is Macquarie’s account updating times. All the other banks update accounts overnight and new balances are there when you wake up. Macquarie doesn’t update accounts until 12 midday. This means you have to wait until 12 noon to have access to any credit into your account. It’s a major pain! An overdraft facility on the account would be a good feature, as would being able to make cash deposits at the post office or through an atm. Apart from those little things, it’s a great account!!

The whole platform is great
I switched from Citibank to Macquarie Bank when they stopped allowing cash withdrawals in their Sydney branches. Although this is clearly in preparation for forced Government Bail-ins during the upcoming economic collapse/reset, I decided to look elsewhere because Citibank's website and App are so dreadful. With no counter withdrawals, they have no point of differentiation.
The Macquarie analytics platform is amazing. The stats that you get on your spending is awesome. Think Tableau + your finances.
I love that I can create my own categories for spending so I can search those terms myself. This is Search Engine + My finances.
Support for Apple Pay is a bonus, I was never that excited about it but started to use it now and again because it's simply there anyway.
The only thing missing from the whole experience is a Chat/Messaging function to contact customer services when you need help.
Overall, a great platform.

Categorising transactions is a pain
The most feature packed banking app on the market. Tagginf transactions on it is a pain though as clicking on it takes you to the tagging screen but when u go back ready to tag another transaction then it hangs.
Wish there is a way to tag multiple transactions at once.
Even with its issues I still feel it should get a 5 for now given its already miles ahead of other apps.

Banking explorer
Such an awesome app! Easy to use, great insights and gives me all my banking needs in one spot... Even my superannuation balance! Just need to get a car loan from Macquarie and then I'm all set!
