Card never received.

I ordered a card almost a month ago and still yet to receive. Impossibile to contact anybody by phone or email, only chat. For the third time in 2 weeks a person ordered another card blaming the post office for the missed delivery. I asked for a tracking number and incredibly 3 times out of 3 the chat dropped. Not to mention the € 25 for an express delivery with ETA 3 to 7 days, I think it’s stealing. When I said that the site states up to 3 days the chat person blamed again someone else … in this case DHL that due to COVID they deliver with extensive delays. So why not to change it in the site? Or put a light box? €25 for a card delivery? Isn’t a life time client worth more than that? The purpose was good and they present themselves well but the substance is lacking. Moving on to something better.

We kindly ask that you check your shipping address is correct by going to My Account > Settings > Personal Settings > Shipping Address. We advise you check that you have met the following conditions for your card delivery: 1) In some markets such as Germany your name must be on the mailbox and doorbell at your address. If a different name is on the mailbox, please add it to the 'additional info' in your mobile app. You can also add your building number, floor number and door code to the 'additional address info' in your mobile app. 2) You need to enter your postal code without any spaces. 3) Your address must be a residential address. Be very careful with this bank!

I usually don’t write reviews but I feel like it is my responsibility to disclose what happened to me so that it doesn’t happen to other people.

I was supposed to get a 169€ refund to this account from an online store but it never arrived. The store’s customer support sent me a proof of the refund and informed me that the problem is at the bank’s end. At first I told myself that it was no big deal, I contacted the customer support and told them about my situation. Not only did they do nothing at all to help me but they were extremely rude to me and treated me as if I was bothering them. I just ignored it and decided to try again another day hoping that a different customer support agent would answer me. I’m not sure if it was the same person the second time but by the way they treated me I’m guessing it was.

A year has passed since then and I still don’t have the refund I was supposed to receive.

As much as I used to love this app and the freedom that it offers, I will be cancelling my account and letting others know about this. I think this case needs publicity.

Don’t be a sucker

They keep your money by freezing your account ! Can’t get no answers and really they don’t care they have your money while your out there starving . Don’t even think about it! Unless you want to be homeless and starve! Still No Money no email nothing and it’s November. UPDATE- Sept. 04, 2021 Still no money. No live people to call, not received a email to update, nothing! Over a year now and still nothing! THE 1-888 number that they tell you in this thread to call, ITS NOTHING BUT A RECORDING TELLING YOU YOUR ACCOUNT IS FROZEN AND THEY WILL EMAIL YOU WITH UPDATES! That another lie! Hadn’t received the first email from them telling me anything. I’m in the process of involving the feds because this bank (and I use that term loosely ) is fixing to run with everyone’s money!

Update:

They still have my money and fixing to close business in the US!

Don’t be fooled by the convenient app.

After using this as my primary bank for about 2 years I can say that this sort of online banking alternative is not the way to go. Everything was fine until the chip on my card started occasionally malfunctioning. I reached out to request a new card be sent but they did NOT let me know that I would be unable to use my current card in any form until the new card comes in the mail (2 weeks later). This also prevented me from sending money to my s/o to use in the meantime via venmo despite being linked to the bank account. Their account and routing information is not recognized on either their own external link services or on the other banks end. After many hours of useless information from N26 support, and both capital one and Citibank being unable to recognize their transfer I will be without any way to access my money until I get the new card in the mail, at which point I will be removing all my money and closing this account. Definitely do not rely on these people as your primary source for banking. If you do not have the debit card they send you, you will have way to access your money in any way.

Horrible customer experiences

First I caught a fraudulent charge, so I disputed it. My card was canceled and I was sent out another. Instead of waiting over a week (as I did), I asked over the phone if I could pay for expedited shipping. I was told no and it could be requested 😒. The question of the security of my money is questionable at this point. About $500 dollars was stolen from my account. They approved the dispute and the same morning froze my account. Which is the second time they stopped me from having access to my funds. After calling and getting no answers basically until they finish and decide to unfreeze my account, I have no money. And no way to access the money I earned. My pay check deposit was also rejected due to the freezing so I literally have to wait for my employer to get a mailed check instead. The whole situation is absolutely insane and my rep’s were very insensitive. Will be switching when they release my funds 🙄

READ: all the positive reviews are FAKE

I have been locked out of my account for almost a year because I changed my phone number and now the two factor authentication will not allow me to log in. I can’t even reset my password or anything. I have emailed customer service three times and they give me the runaround each time, telling me to start a support chat which, as it turns out, is impossible if you are not logged in. The last time I emailed, whoever responded had the gall to tell me I could start a chat without logging in, and directed me to a page and told me exactly which button to click to start a support chat WITHOUT LOGGING IN. Lo and behold, that button doesn’t exist. Nowhere to be found. I can’t access my money.

I finally read all the positive reviews on here because I was so suspicious, and they all sound so fake and robotic. Not surprised that there are now so many negative ones. I wish the negative reviews had been there for when I first made my account because I certainly would have listened.

Best Bank app

I highly recommend N26! So much better than actual bank in Europe. Customer service is always very helpful.
The fact of having instant transfer is a plus. No more waiting for 2 or 3 days before getting your money from others or from a different account of yours.

Have Backup Bank Account

The app itself is what makes this company - so no complaints there, it’s simple and easy to use. However, as you’ll find with some other negative reviews the customer service is basically non existent, which is a real problem if something more serious affects your account. My friend had his account compromised, I had mine locked… we both waited WEEKS to get it resolved via their email only customer service. For a well funded/revenue generating company that handles other people’s money, it’s really unacceptable. If you want to use N26 as your spending account, go ahead, but never have the majority of your funds there or no backup bank to use if something comes up. They’ve lost me as a customer. The easy convenience doesn’t make up for a clear lack of real interest in supporting customers when things go wrong.

N26 Never Again

First initial contact with support was beyond dissatisfaction. Honestly the worst customer service ever, getting paid early is a great feature but it’s also very common. Seems to me like their focus isn’t even on their customer service. Why make an online banking app for people, yet you can’t support them? Doesn’t support PLAID. If you lose or misplace your debit, your whole account is of no use unless you send your funds to a completely different institution via ach transfer. They won’t allow you to pay your bills using account and routing number, and yet they don’t provide virtual cards for customers to be able to have access to funds when debit is lost or stolen. Customer support is just there because they absolutely can’t help you with anything. I will not be using this institution for much longer. They might as well become a promotional institution for other online banks since their SOLUTION to everything is to “transfer your funds to a different account”. Well I might as well just USE THE DIFFERENT ACCOUNT! Worst experience I’ve ever had with any online bank, with the very utmost unpleasant experience with customer support.
