Great
I am 72 and female. There are times when I am unable to mow my own lawn. I am so happy to have a service like lawn guru because it allows you to have service where and when you want it. You can use the service for a week or years, it’s strictly up to you. I’d like that you don’t have a penalty when you want to use it. Although I may try to mow my lawn myself it’s not all the time that I am able. So if you’re in the market for a good reputable company please give lawn guru a try and thanks for reading this.

Great idea but poor execution
I LOVE the idea that this app provides. Help in my yard when life just gets too overwhelming and I can’t do it. Amazing. The problem is is that they never show!!! I have had 5 people no show or cancel the day of or even the day after. Well then you are totally screwed because now the grass is long and you have no way to get someone out immediately. Then when these people don’t show and then just abruptly cancel the job you have no way to rate them..so all the “employees” have 4.9 Ratings…you can only rate them if they actually show up and cut. This has been by far the most frustrating process/service. Again great idea but just isnt working!

Potential to be great but lacks follow through
Lawn Guru is a great concept and I’ve used it for last minute jobs in the past which it worked out great and I had great services.
Most recently, I went out of town on a cruise and requested a job to be done mowing my lawn. I come back from my cruise and my yard is a jungle. Come to find out no one had picked up the bid?! After a week and a half. I write the company to remedy the problem and they increased the bid twice on them to no avail, i ended up mowing myself.
When it works out it’s great but can’t trust it to actually get done with 100% certainty.

Hit or miss…but improved
Most of the time we’ve had decent service. Things get changed on clients frequently so I’ve had to text several time to straighten things out. I wish there was a phone number to actually talk to someone. We currently have a mower, Jason that does a nice job. We used this service in the past and before we had a different person every week and that was awful! I’m glad it’s not the case anymore! Seems like things have improved over the years. We are currently happy with our services.

Outdoor Service “a la carte”
I started using Lawn Guru 4 years ago after I had unanticipated knee surgery and wasn’t able to manage yard/garden upkeep. The recovery was lengthy and extended into the winter season- and Lawn Guru was able to offer snow clearing service as well. I have been very fortunate to have had reliable, skilled providers (with 1 exception).
I haven’t used other services (weeding, tree/shrub pruning, mulching, etc), but do plan on it. The ONLY thing to be aware of is that many of the providers use Lawn Guru to fill low volume time in their schedules, so, you are much less likely to get a Thursday or Friday service day- the other days are typical. This means you may get your grass cut on a Monday or Tuesday and by the time the weekend rolls around and you want to relax or entertain, you will need to either cut the grass yourself or deal with things not looking their best. Or perhaps your service day will be on a weekend which you may not want to deal with.
On the upside? No contracts or penalties for cancellation unless the provider is already in their way to you.

Happy Customer
LawnGuru has been a very simplistic and easy way to be able to manage lawn services and more. Able to do everything right from our phone. We got blessed with an amazing crew that has not only done mowing but some landscaping as well. We’ve got some more yard things they’re going to do as well. LawnGuru has made it so easy and painless to keep your lawn and outside area complete. Can’t wait to use this in the winter for snow. This is a must have app!!!

Continuously Satisfied Customer
This app has saved me a numerous times. I had originally moved into my home in 2017 and we did not have a shed or garage and no space for my own mower. I would search the streets or hope for someone to come down the street trying to mow my lawn for $20 because big companies wanted to charge me $50+ for my small yard. Which worked for all of two weeks until the city placed an orange tag on my door to get my lawn cut by 8am the next morning or I would face city fines for them cutting it. I heard of LawnGuru through a friend at work and surprisingly was able to get my lawn cut within a couple hours of receiving that notice and have not received one since. You have the ability to set up single cuts, weekly, bi-weekly, basically anything that fits your schedule or how fast your lawn grows. I absolutely love LawnGuru. Very easily set up and you have direct communication with the ones who are actually doing the work. Lawn service is not all they have either, you can even get weeding and snow service for your property. Reasonably priced and typically on schedule (weather permitting) but my service provider is very transparent about it and I know if it’s not today he’ll be here tomorrow! 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

LawnGuru is good so long as their contractors are responsible
I like the service. It has been especially helpful since I am recovering from surgery and my prior lawn guy was unreliable and rude at times. The customer service is helpful, the prices are good, and all the work we’ve had the done has been good. We’ve been through a long list of contractors as some have had issues with their equipment and had to quit. Other times our contractors just changed. Wish that part was more consistent, but overall I’m happy.

Overall Review
I’ve been using LawnGuru for about 4 years now. I’ve had much time and experience with the app service to provide some pros and cons about their reoccurring lawn service.
Pros:
-You can manage weekly lawn needs through app
-Better rate if you sign up for reoccurring service
-Payment is done through app with ability to tip through app as well
-Don’t need to be home for service to be completed
-Customer Service is prompt in responding (M-F)
Cons:
-They do not bag lawn clippings (even with reoccurring service)
-Provider can drop your property without notice. This mean you can end up with someone new every week (extreme case)
-Sometime service/ quality could be inconsistent (see above comment)
-Provider can change service day without notice as well.
I haven’t used any of the other services. I did try once, but follow-up from provider was slow which led me to canceling job. If you are like me and have a grass allergy or travel a lot and still want affordable service. Then this app would work for you!

Mostly good, with a few minor drawbacks
The LawnGuru App saved us so many times during the winter when we had monstrous snowstorms and no snowblower! We set up auto plow service and someone (I assume a Plow Fairy?) came in the middle of the night and plowed our driveway and shoveled our sidewalk! We have weekly mowing service also, but it does come at a hefty cost. (I consider it worth it, since it is not something I can do.)
The minor drawbacks on the app: It is a bit difficult to set the parameters of your property boundaries with the tiny dots and lines if you have bumbling fingers. I would bet even if you are nimble, you would have a bit of a struggle adjusting each tiny line to make sure your sidewalks and driveway are properly outlined and plotted. The good thing is that the customer service is friendly and efficient, and they are willing to help fix your mistakes on the property drawing.
The other drawback is the various other services that the companies claim to offer… I have tried several times to request quotes for services like weed removal— one was $900, and we do not have an extensive weed problem. It seems there was some pricing issues. I don’t think this is LawnGurus fault, but it is an app issue nonetheless.
