Developer stopped supporting previous version

Have had the predecessor to this app for years and been quite happy with it. Unfortunately the developer seems to have stopped updating that version to keep up with the current versions of iOS. Apple won’t allow an iOS rollback to the last-supported version. I’m going on 2 months without the ability to access 100 or so passwords.

I would gladly buy the full version of this new app if it had the ability to import the data from the previous version. The fact that the developer has left many of us early users high and dry with inaccessible data is reason enough for me to look elsewhere for my next storage solution.

Locked out

Was using this app almost daily until was locked out due to the app needing upgrading to meet the latest version of iOS. Fortunately I had an older iPhone running on an older iOS version which had iPassword and I was able to retrieve my passwords. Do not trust the developers any more though so now looking for another solution. Feel bad for all the people who have lost so many passwords. I was very lucky I had a back up. Don’t rely on this app alone if you choose to use it.

Do not download

The same app developer used to have another older version which I have and now doesn't work. They stop developing and now won't work with latest iOS. I have loads of passwords saved in there and now can't access and many of these are work related, I work in health care so this is terrible. they will not answer emails and don't respond to anything. This will work good I'm sure but they will leave you high and dry. Shocking service.

Do not trust!!! Lost all my passwords because developer didn’t update its other app.

Just as it says, a lot of people have lost their passwords, and I had the other password app (named the same thing) from this developer for years. I even paid for it! Then now they just abandoned it and we all lost our passwords? If it happened to their other app, it will happen to this one. And not only that the company has not addressed or shown any concern to help people get their passwords back! There was no notice for people to get their passwords before they would not be updating their app. None! So sad right now. Had this app for many years and sad that I even paid for it now. Go to a reputable company like nord or mccafee or something. Will never trust these guys again.

IPassword not compatible with IOS 14.5

The developers of this app have a previous version called ipassword, now they created this version and left all users unable to access our information because the app is no longer compatible with the new operating systems and leaving us without any option or support to recover the data and without any notification …… that speaks very badly of the developers because now I don't trust downloading any app from them

Terrible. All passwords gone. Nightmare.

I had installed a previous version of this app and used it for years. Upon a recent iOS update to 14.6, the app stopped working - when trying to launch I get a “iPassword” Needs to Be Updated message. “The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version if iOS”.

I then installed this version and tried restoring my data from the cloud - however the restored version is a very old one, most definitely not the one I most recently backed up. So I am now left without access to any of the passwords I updated in the last 2 years or so. Complete nightmare!

Response to Ariel Chazan

I was in your exact position. I was lucky to be able to solve it. You need another iphone that is running an OS that is older than this one. I had an iphone 5 which ran iOS 10 lol. Then I downloaded a software called “imazing”. Connect your current phone and export the entire iPassword app to your PC using “iamazing” (make sure you export the entire app - and it is the correct one - first time cus it’s the trial version which has limited file moves). Then connect your old phone to “imazing”. Find the import file button to install the app iPassword app on your old phone. Follow the instructions and the app will be installed with all the info on your old phone.

Then within iPassword on your old phone go to settings and back it up using iTunes. Follow the instructions. Then go to this version of the app on your new phone and follow the instructions to restore from iTunes.

It’s working for me now. Tho now I am way more wary about using this app!

Beware

Had the previous version of this app. With the last iOS update (14.5) the older app is not compatible so it will NOT open. No one received any notice or warning. The app Developer needs to update but they have not done so and seem unwilling to do so. Apple says their is nothing they can do. Hundreds, probably thousands, of people now locked out of their usernames/passwords. This version of the app looks and operates exactly the same as the previous version so I have to think it is the same Developer. Hopefully the Developer does the right thing and updates the previous app (which we paid for) so people can access their data. Beware of using this app or one day you may fall victim to the same iOS issue.

DO NOT USE THIS APP AT ALL!!!

I have had iPassword since February 2013 which I paid for and without warning got the following message.

"iPassword needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of IOS."

The program worked great form February 2013 until it suddenly became unavailable June ‘21 without any warning and I now don’t have access to my passwords 😡.

The developer does not engage with users of the app. When I contacted the Apple genius they told me they cannot help with 3rd party apps, good luck and hope I am able to resolve my issue.

There is no way to report the developer and get Apple AppStore to get the developer to co operate with the ,00s if not ,000s of users that are impacted by this.

This app is not fit for purpose and is disastrous to your privacy and accessing important and sensitive information.

Shame on Apple for allowing this to happen.

Unreliable developer

Don't use this app for your important passwords!!!

I used their previous paid version (with different logo but same developer) and now can't open the app anymore after update the iOS 14.6. The worse thing is they don't provide any download and update in the App Store anymore!! Completely disappear!! I loss all important passwords in the app without any precaution to perform a backup. I just realised heaps of people who used this app have the same problem when I searched on internet. People post on the apple community and the developer page but get no response.

The developer create this new version which is exactly the same as the previous one in design and functionality. But they say on the pop up note that they can't restore the data from the previous version. This is so irresponsible and doggy !!!!!!!!!
