No Google or Alexa integration
The Ambient Home app is the only way to control the thermostat and Ring camera in my townhome, and it refuses to work with Alexa or Google Assistant.
I’ve tried everything — the native Honeywell and Ring apps are completely locked out, so I’m stuck with this one clunky app. No voice control, no routines, no “Hey Google, set the temperature to 72,” nothing. In 2026 that’s just unacceptable for a “smart” apartment system.
Please add proper Alexa and Google Home integration. Until then this is a major downgrade from actual smart home control.

Love it
I couldn’t get it to work and couldn’t get in touch with customer service- but once they finally reached out it was a fast and easy process. I love the app because I’m gone to a different state literally everyday for work - & I can control the thermostat and door lock anywhere I am.
This app is terrible
If you want to be locked out of your home on a periodic basis for no reason use ambient!
Good when it works
As a disabled person in an Ambient Home-enabled apartment, I have found the app extremely useful when my mobility is limited. It does, however, break far more often than other utilities. For instance, yesterday there was some kind of bug that set folks’ temperatures to read as 33 degrees, so the HEAT came on. In Atlanta. In early September. They fixed that pretty quickly but now light control has totally disappeared from the app. Come on y’all—get it together. Few people who use this app have a choice about using it; it comes with the rental. Unfortunately that may play into a lack of resources dedicated to fixing its bugs.

This app sometimes logs me out, my door code won’t work and sometimes the app is just frozen.
Doesn’t sync most of the tume
Really hate this app. Only using it because the apartment I live uses it for the AC / lighting system. More than half of the time it doesn’t sync especially when adjusting the temperature.
Literally the worst app ever created
UPDATE: Ambient is on a campaign to increase appearing through false testimonials. Don’t believe it. This app is trash. Their system is trash. It constantly breaks connection. Nothing works. Nothing is out of the box. Everything is wrong. All of my lights are off and it tells me they are on. The temperature never matches my thermostat. I can’t control anything but the door locks. I am incredibly frustrated with my move in experience to a community that has chosen this app.

This app doesn’t work
It would be nice if it knew whether the lock was actually locked and if it would keep it that way.
Never works
We used to have dwelo. That system wasn’t all that great but when Ambient took it over somehow the services got even worse.

Phenomenal customer support
It took some time and patience but the support team is great Sarahi was awesome I’ve had some issues w the app and the hours for customer support don’t align well w my work schedule I was finally able to call in and it looks like all the bugs have been worked out! If you any issues call into customer support and if you’re lucky enough to get Sarahi she’ll get you all squared away 👍

Outdated App
So after the new update I cant see the last time my door was open or close this builds trust issues with the landlord or any apt using this. This app needs completely help
APP IS JUNK - HORRIBLE!!
Unfortunately my apartment complex installed these against our will and we have to use this terrible app.
None of the features ever work and I get error messages almost every time I try to use it. It will tell me that my door is unlocked when it’s not, it will display the wrong temperature. You go to adjust the temperature and it says it’s adjusting and then it just randomly goes back to the original temperature.
This app is absolute junk. I have zero clue why any apartment complex would read these reviews and still install this for their residents.

Door not locking and unlocking thermostat not controllable
Since day one I’ve always had issues with the app not allowing the door to lock or unlock and I can’t adjust thermostat and it will show it’s on the wrong settings
This app never works
The thermostat never changes, it doesn’t update when my door is actually locked or unlocked. PLEASE FIX THE WHOLE THING. It’s so frustrating.

Connectivity
The only reason I am giving two stars is because the door locking and unlocking works. The thermostat doesn’t work or connect at all and displays an inaccurate temperature reading on the app. Overall not easy to use.
Poor quality app
Why it is even used by properties. Should use better alternative to this app.since 2 years only useless experience.
