American needs to treat passengers better
I was booked on an AA flight and it was oversold by several seats. Passengers were offered compensation for a hotel stay that night, transportation to the hotel & back, and a future flight credit in exchange for taking a flight the next day. Several passengers, including me, accepted the offer. When I contacted AA days later to get reimbursed for the hotel and transportation, AA denied it, saying that the flight ended up being delayed due to air traffic control issues. Huh ? What’s that got to do with the fact that it was oversold? AA maintained its position despite multiple emails pointing out this nonsensical position. Shame on you AA! You should keep your promises to your passengers!

Always broken
I just downloaded this app and every time I try and use it, I get the error that it’s unavailable. Been this way for 2 days now. Website is easier than the app.

TSA Incomparible
I have TSA precheck, and it’s on my AA profile, but AA never adds it to my boarding pass when I check in.

Too many upgrade options during check in
Seriously, it took me like 5 minutes to check in when it could’ve taken less than 2 minutes because you present every little upgrade as a separate page. What if I had spotty signal. It’s so frustrating. Otherwise, I love American Airlines and thank you for your work! But please consider improving the check in process on the app.

Nice App but…
Why do my trips do not update so that I have to delete and then re install it. And then my trips disappear!
Delayed flight on August 27 out of Philadelphia to Boston-flight 2882 on 8/27
Failure to promptly communicate details to passengers, causing some to have to sleep at the airport! Some missed the earlier flight to Boston. I was given 3 separate gates and departure times; very frustrating. For all the hassle, I was offered reward points which I haven’t been able to add to my account! 🙄 Very disappointed in American Airlines, but I know that weather cannot be anyone’s fault. However, the reaction to it, can be better!

Extremely difficult checkin now
It used to be a breeze to do early checkin on the app. Now nearly impossible
The old option to click and walk through checking is gone. Now you have to dig to manage the trip. And even so, the option doesn’t become available when the checkin window opens.
Once checked-in, there is now way to download the QR Code. Again, have to dig deep into manage trip and request pass via print (fault generated) or email.
If pass is emailed no way to upload to wallet. Only a screenshot works. So now only the photo checkin works.
No way to know if TSA-precheck took unli you receive email.

Easy to Navigate
I have loved using the American app. Any time that I have faced a delay, cancelation, or missed connection it has allowed me to easily re-book and find a way to my final destination. Using the app has allowed me to avoid anticipated delays and long lines at the airport to change travel plans.
