AppClose reliability

Just a heads up to anyone using this app if for some reason you are not using the app for 6 months the app can terminate your account without notice.. this had happened to me there’s important conversations that I had and all of the sudden with no explanation my account and all my messages are gone. The frustrating part is that trying to talk to customer service about the matter they don’t give me a proper explanation to this.. so if you have messages that you are planning to use in a potential future case be careful be this app can close and delete those messages after 6 months of not using the app

Sucks

This app sucks not a fan. Confusing and can’t get anything done cost way to much it was free now pay to much

Deletes information

I put all my daughters doctors and the app and it deleted all the information. No I have to input all that information again

2 years and still the facetime don't work unless your on WiFi. Unless app

Useless for facetime

Very Frustrating

I pay for the subscription and yet half the time can’t track when drop-offs or pick-ups occur because the app acts like I don’t have a subscription when I go to create a new log. People rely on these things for family court, and pay for these services for a reason.

Zero customer service

I have court orders to use this app and have been unable to access it for 7 days and counting.

I’ve raised 4 support tickets

I get generic replies for support and asked questions from them I’ve already answered.

When they cant help they just stop replying.

No one replies or updates about the issue and if i follow up the response is “timing varies”

It’s not good enough why can’t they send a verification text

I wish i could give 0 stars

It’s Ok I Suppose…

This app is OK, I’m only using it because the court told me I had to, if I wasn’t order to by the court, I wouldn’t be using it. But anyways, here is my review of this app. The messaging system is pretty straightforward. You send messages back and forth like you would on iMessage or any other messaging platform. It’s all recorded in the AppClose App, but I have seen that you have a time limit where if you don’t download the files in a certain amount of time, they just delete. That’s pretty inconvenient if you need them files, what if you need to go to court again and need them files? Also, I was told by the judge that this app was free with no subscription, which is obviously false.

I have a few recommendations for the app. First off, don’t delete the message, audio files, and check in information after a period of time. Second I think you guys should add a voicemail feature.

No good for high conflict!

I continue to have issues with this app, when you have a high conflict coparent, they sometimes are irresponsible and will make multiple different accounts getting locked out and not paying then you can’t join in one chat making records all over the place. Then it closes the coparents old account preventing you from continuing to go through it and bookmark, doesn’t allow you add a new coparent after a few times of the coparents going through this so not there is no way for coparent to access the calender - as it does not allow option for new “user”. Only allows inside chat. And yes I have gone through the steps. The calenders are absolutely confusing and prettt much useless. The majority of people use Apple devices, why not make the calender similar to the same format and not so squishy and hard to find everything and organize?
Additionally, ipay U is not even included in Canada. Finding anything is a disaster and so time consuming! Who has that time. Should be formatted in a way that can be organized for court. When you’re in a post seperational abusive relationship- and trying to navigate keeping your kids safe- the goal should be to make things less stressful. I will be searching for something else to present at new court date.

Not as great now that it’s not free

I chose this app years ago for its functionality while still being free, as I didn’t know what my life was going to be like post-divorce. The app is pretty cumbersome. Needing a lot of clicks to add an expense, which is now what I use it the most for. I’d love to see the ability to have repeating expenses (like medical insurance, allowance, or phone bills that don’t change every month) to decrease my workload of tracking expenses, as that alone takes a lot of mental workload for me on a monthly basis. Or at least autofill some things when it sees that I’m typing on something familiar. It does have all the scheduling capabilities, and syncs well with my iCal, so I give it another star for that, but we do not use this for that function. Now that it is a paid app, the things that make it cumbersome will have me looking at other apps to see if they are more streamlined. My ex didn’t even want to start paying for this one, but I wasn’t ready to figure out a new method to get reimbursed for all of my expenses.

Not worth the trouble even when it’s free

Difficult to use, when you try to add an agreed parenting schedule the calendar does not reflect the addition correctly. Tried this app to see my schedule months ahead since it was free but now they want to you to pay for it. Deleted this app and am using the native iOS calendar with no errors and is so much easier to use.

Equifax breach was in 2017.

It works OK

I wish you could change notification sounds or something and my other issue is half the time I don’t get notifications from my ex send me a message. They need to figure out how to do something with the notifications.

Worse Than Free Alternatives

This app is absolutely terrible. The video chat feature is painfully slow and unreliable. Every time I try to start a video call, I end up waiting 10–15 seconds before the video even begins to work—if it works at all. It’s unbelievable that anyone would expect people to pay for this when free apps like FaceTime and WhatsApp perform dramatically better.

The app feels buggy, outdated, and frustrating to use. One of the most annoying issues is the notification system. No matter what I do, message notifications refuse to clear, even after I’ve read every message. The badges just sit there permanently, constantly grabbing my attention and making it look like I have unread messages when I don’t.

Paying for an app that performs worse than free alternatives is ridiculous. This app is a complete waste of money and one of the most frustrating apps I’ve ever used. If I could delete it from existence and never deal with it again, I would.

Need to be able to overlap holidays with regular schedule

I have a regular schedule which is changed only during holidays in Australia. I can never overlap the holiday schedule into the existing and it’s annoying

Difficult to use, ineffective message check

I’ve been using this for two years. You can only use it on your phone. There’s no web browser access. This means that using the calendar is difficult when trying to add multiple events. Sending money is very limited, so it’s also useless.

They added a message check, but it’s ineffective. My ex sends hostile messages regularly, yet when I copy and paste them into the message check, it says there’s no recommended changes. I assume it’s only looking for curse words, because it’s definitely not looking for hostility, threats, and accusations.

My attorney and I had a stipulation to use a coparenting app due to my ex’s incessant harassment, but, even with the app, nothing changed. In fact, one of the first messages in the app from him said that he didn’t care about the app and record, it’s not going to change the way he communicates with me.

I really wanted them to come out with a message check feature and now that they have, I’m terribly disappointed at how useless it is. I’m just going to have to suffer this continued—but different—abuse for the next 7 years.

I hear good things about Our Family Wizard. I’d try that one instead of AppClose since this one is no longer free.

App freezes

You take my money but I’m not able to use the app it’s completely useless

App is freezing

App is no freezing and support ignores my emails.

No longer works

Support email won’t consistently answer so I’m in this loop of emailing and explaining, asked every question under the sun then nothing and back round again.

Clunky and Inconsistent

Needs updating. Slow/challenging support. When a change of care dates gets changed you have to manually update the calendar yourself which makes no sense. Had a support app feed that didn’t get responded to from 25 May to 2nd of June when I chased three times. Support staff ask you for info you gave them already. That issue remains unresolved.

Has the bones of a good app but definitely not easy to use or get help for.
