Could the federal government actually recognise there are other states out there beside NSW? Why does it always use NSW imagery, like this app?

Claims to help process returns faster but in reality. Totally the opposite. Says returns processed in 10 “ working days” but months later ( 2 months +) still waiting. No updates no follow ups And ato doesn’t answer phone calls to respond to queries either. Doing thru tax agents takes 2 weeks. This app is useless

While updating technology is understandable, developers should consider supporting older devices for longer so affordability doesn’t become a barrier to accessing the app.
Overall, the app risks contributing to the digital divide rather than providing an inclusive experience for all users.

Just doing my part.
Infuriating
To register my new phone, the app needs to send a code to my old phone. Who keeps their old phone these days? So, I have to call the call centre, which was of course a new low-lever tedium.

This has to be the most garbage app I’ve ever used, sold my previous devise and now I can’t login. Try to call them and they are apparently always too busy. Horrible horrible system
Very poor architecture for authentication
Requiring access to an old install of the app you last used a year ago to get a notification on a phone you don’t have when you have already used a PassKey to sign in, and have other options for 2FA is a very bad design decision. Especially when the solution is “call us and spend 20min on the phone for the tech team to take 7-10 working days to action the ticket.” Just a terrible design all around. How did that get through a design authority??

Unable to login,
For god sake can you test at least once what you have built? It’s a joke! When I tired login to it asked to register my device, and to register I need to provide a verification code which I cannot provide because I’m not logged in. This is a dead loop ! Paying tax is too hard in this country !

Every year same issues trying to sort tax time out.
If you have changed your device since last year, god help you! Don’t waste your time trying to do it online and even calling them up they will tell you it takes up to 7 to 10 working days just to add a new device. So ridiculous it’s almost comedy!
Wise up ATO. Get it together. You rob billions from us every year and can’t even have a working app. USELSS!

Useless government
I cant create an account to lodge my tax return, the number provided doesn’t work and i cant get my money back because of this stupid app

Genuinely not worth anyones time.
The amount of time this app wastes is insane to me. First, you try to log in, and it tells you to use a different log in as it was not the same one you used last time you were logged in. Whats the point of having multiple login options if its going to just deny you just because its different from the first login you used. Then, when you try the different log in with MyID (the recommended one) it tells you (after going through the whole process of logging in) that your MyID identity strength isn’t high enough, once again refusing login to ATO. Wouldn’t surprise me if the developers just made the app blindfolded.

I use this app once a year and change phones every two years.
Having to ring up to get an old device disconnected just so I can log in is ridiculous. This app isn’t worth the effort.

Tricky set-up but good once connected
Set up from the Services Australia app hit a wall of multi-website steps with codes and log-ins.
But persevere and the app makes tax management simple and secure.
