Best Breathing App
This app has everything I want in a breathing app. It has a simple design that gives simple visual cues as well as haptics if you want to have your eyes closed. I like that you can totally customize the inhale/exhale/hold ratios to make it work for you. This makes it so that the guided paced breathing works whether you’re an über athlete, a smoker, or anything else. Plus there’s no monthly fee or ads. I’m a psychotherapist and I use this myself as well as recommended to my clients.

Wonderful Way to Relax
Setting a rhythm and time that’s suitable for me, listening to the sound of water guiding my breathing in and breathing out brings me to a place where stress is relieved. Sometimes I even fall asleep and have the most peaceful rest.

Though retired and on a tight budget I adore the app that allows us to use it and benefit from it daily for free- while offering more for those able to pay. Such a simple app it is easy to use it daily as I have done for years now. Thank you!

I love this app, use nearly daily
Broken
Only works half of the time. Sometimes it runs without a hitch, and other times it freezes, lags, or quits. It seems to get worse with every iOS update.

Very elegant design
Very simple, beautiful and effective. Exactly what I was looking for in a (box breathing) app. I like the color variety and the ability to set the prompts to vibrate because I often hold my phone in my hand while breathing. No noise. No distractions. No counting in my head. Reminders and stats are a plus. But the real treasure is its simplicity. This app lives on my home screen and I use it many times a day.
I updated my review to three stars for a few reasons: there is only one option for sound and that one option has crackling in the audio no matter how high the volume is. It’s not a very pleasant sound at all and can’t be customized. Also, the stats feature is lacking in many areas. It’s basically a bare bones feature. I would like to see some future development on this but I won’t hold my breath.

Finally, an Apple Watch companion. Apple’s own breathe app can’t be set up to do box breathing.

Love it!
I love the choices of sounds and colors. The choices of how long are extremely helpful. I can decide what I need. My doctor recommended the 4-7-8 breathing for the morning and before bed to help me focus and relax. It definitely works!

Very basic app, not worth the subscription fee
I used to use another app, which had very defined breathing patterns. The only thing you could change was the timer for the pattern. This one allows you to modify the length of inhale, hold, and exhale, which is nice, and made me think that it might be worth keeping. The main reason I decided against it is that I like to breathe with my eyes closed, and the music they used to indicate inhale versus exhale doesn’t clearly indicate to me when to switch.

Sudden change no notice
I have always used this as a free app (or maybe the very cheap version with no ads), having not needed to unlock the themes. I don’t use this often, mostly at the dentist. But when I have used it I have loved it!
All of a sudden, with no notice, the free (or no ads) version no longer exists for me, although it seems to still exist on the App Store. The only option I have is to pay $29.99 annually or $12.99 per month.
I am not even objecting to their needing to monetize the app I have a huge problem with the lack of communication about it and suddenly finding I can’t use it, especially for an app that one mostly uses when agitated or anxious.
