Deceiving
I thought and Chatgpt before to make sure that I was paying nearly $250 more for a joule oven so I can start and stop and monitor my cooking remotely via wifi. That is not the case. I need to be present to start the unit. I am not happy I spent the extra money for a feature that doesn’t work as advertised.

Response from developer
Hi Tkreuh, thank you for your feedback and we are sorry for the confusion. The press to start is a UL requirement for temperatures over 185 °F, so most oven functions will require a button press to make sure it is safe to start. If you have any questions, we are happy to help: https://support.breville.com/
Huge improvement to the Joule app
My original Chefs Steps Joule Sous Vide was practically a paper weight using the old Joule app. This app is so much more reliable, useful and easy to use! So glad Breville saved my immersion cooker
Not great
App is clunky. Forced to download for an “updated experience” won’t connect to appliances had to create a new account. Just a blatant data grab for a sub par and overpriced piece of gear that has only been used a handful of times and is now completely bricked.
Works as labeled
The app is easy and self explanatory. The temperature control is precise as too the timing. It could use an automatic shutoff when the time has expired.
Pleasure to use
This app gives you answers fast and is a breeze to use. So many different foods are supported, and the “our fave” setting for temperatures helps a lot when I’m making something I’m less familiar with
