Reward Flight system still doesn’t work

Despite a recent app upgrade, the reward flight booking system still doesn’t work. It either breaks already at a human verification point, or if you are lucky and get to the booking page, 9/10 time you will get an error asking you to try again later. Not to mention the interface itself and the fact that it opens as a web page as opposed to an app

Terrible

Keeps crashing. Completely useless, even after various re-installs. Please fix it!!

Disaster

It seems this latest update doesn’t work with my iPad, where as the previous version worked perfectly. This is not a step forward when customers are excluded from services they previously enjoyed.

Is this the best they can do?

This is less of an App and more of a webpage with links to lots of other web pages. Slow and awkward I preferred the old one!

Terribly unintuitive sorting in the updated "Trips" tab

The updated version of the app completely breaks basic UI/UX logic. In the Trips tab, upcoming flights are sorted by the departure date of the first leg of the entire round-trip booking, rather than by the actual departure date/time of the next upcoming flight.
For frequent flyers with multiple overlapping or long-span return bookings, this creates a confusing mess. A flight departing today gets buried underneath a booking whose outbound leg was months ago, making it unnecessarily difficult to quickly locate boarding passes, check flight status, or manage the next leg.
It is poor design and a complete lack of customer-centric thinking. Please fix the sorting logic to order trips chronologically by the next departing flight segment.

Why so bad?

Hard to imagine this app could become more basic, but it seems they’ve managed it. You’re no longer able to track flights or see which aircraft type it is. I used to use this information daily (when the app actually worked).

Awful Interface

Trying to book a reward flight is impossible, not only on the app but also the website. It’s like the people who design these apps don’t go on holidays theirselves, why make something that should be so simple, so complicated. It use to be so much easier and this new app and changes they’ve made make it impossible. Seriously considering not using British Airways anymore as without the rewards flights it’s not worth it.

Buggy

The add flights to calendar stopped working on IOS- worked fine before ☹️

Lots of issues

So many features you’d expect from an airline app aren’t available. The app forces you to go to a web browser which requires you to log in. Also, the seat selector hasn’t worked for me since this new app was launched.

Trash. No option to book reward travel through the app. Reward flights are uniformly more expensive

Trash. No option to book reward travel through the app. Reward flights are uniformly more expensive when booking through BA on AA. Not impressed

Errors

Cannot book anything any more

Way better than before

Way better than before, just one issue I hope they will fix soon: during the check-in the checked luggages are always zero. They display correctly on the web

Log in Issues

Revamped app does not open keyboard to enable me to log in to my account. Can only use as a guest. Using iPad A16.

Val

The worst travel app ever. No booking find, "we encountered an error" without starting the error (booking fine on website). Asking for passport details a million of times when details are under account...rubbish

Not a real app. Has basically zero functionality

Not sure why they released this, almost no functionality is actually in the app rather it’s just a shell of an app that pops you out to the mobile browser (where you need to login again) for almost everything. Save your time and just open safari and go to the BA website, that’s where you will end up anyways

So much better

Love the new app. Shame it took so long but so much better.

Full calendar access just to add a flight??

This brand spanking new app has a calendar access approach that was fixed by Apple in 2023. There is no reason you should require full access to my entire diary, including locations, emails, and any other information included in invites just to execute a write only command. Like I’m going to trust that data to BA?? Yet another nail in the coffin of my flying BA.

New App is Terrible

Why would you push a release on an app that is barely functional? If you want to do ANYTHING, you have to go to the website. The old app still worked, I’m super frustrated that I updated it. Truly ridiculous. They seem to be doing the same with their website which also isn’t working properly. Couldn’t pay to add and bag or upgrade because the website kept failing. No wonder you’re in the basement of CDG like the ugly stepchild.
