They need to get rid of this company, hire someone else

How about you go travel before building this app for a country. London, Athens, Chicago pretty much anywhere is simpler than this. Shouldn’t take 15 min to buy a pass. Just accept Apple Pay scan. Or make the app simple

Idea is good, execution falls so frustratingly short

The app is generally reasonably well designed and functional, but the supreme annoyance is that whenever you open the app to show your ticket, it can take anywhere from 10 seconds to several minutes before the splash screen goes away and your pass/ticket barcode displays or other functions are available.

There are comments on Reddit saying that every time the app is opened, it has to download all of the routing and transit vehicle data (real-time locations, etc.) before the app can proceed.

If that is the case, then that speaks to an absolutely terrible design and implementation. Tens if not hundreds of thousands of people use this app every day, and downloading tons of data every time every app is opened is a crushing load of demand on the transit agency’s servers. No wonder it can’t keep up. That type of data should either be cached or lazy loading in the background should be utilized. Forcing queues to get on the buses or lines at the elevators into Metro stations to be held because hundreds of people can’t get the app to load their tickets is a terrible design, and I have seen it happen every day that I have been in Hungary.

Shockingly bad user experience

I’d be so embarrassed if I were the developer of this app.

Actually pretty good

Not sure why the reviews are so negative on this.

The app is super easy to use - easier than the Paris equivalents, comparable to Prague, Vienna apps.
Required minimal details, just name and address, no ID.

A few reviewers apparently complained about the payment handler, Simple, that opens in a popup to accept payment. This is not a separate app, just a popup for accepting payment. It didn’t require any extra info from me and Apple Pay worked fine.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, app is actually pretty good.
