Applying remotely is a nightmare
I have been trying to apply but cannot get past scanning the back of my id card for hours.
It doesn’t matter if I prop both phone and id on a stable surface, the app can apparently feel the rotation of the earth cause it tells me to stop moving.

Despite varying illumination, distance, angle, and bracing phone camera the SMV wallet app will not scan my current driver’s license.

this took more than a month and many tries to get it to work
I have been a tech support manager and do database and website msnagement - In other words, I’m not an idiot regarding tech. I had to download the App three times , got multiple hangs and errors along the way, submitted data, said it was processing, waited two weeks for it to actually complete, which it never did. I have had a CA DL, same #, same name for more than 50 years, it shouldn’t be difficult to verify me. Yet it was incredibly difficult to actually get it to work. [which I need for a different online system which is requiring it got verification]
