If I could give this app a negative review I would. This app is bad, and the only thing worse is the actual shoreline east service itself. Zero communication, zero accountability.

It’s kind of absurd that the app doesn’t even have train schedules in it.
i mean it works
you can buy tickets and show them to the conductor. that’s it. the interface looks like it was laid out in powerpoint. would be nice if you could see schedules or maps or train status or really anything else.
Don't take my word for it
It's possible this app was designed by a five year-old who's never been to school. Just read the other one star reviews and you'll get the picture pretty quickly.

Utter trash, a total waste of time I would rather carve into a tablet, then have to use this piece of trash app. If the lowest bitter bid five dollars in the state took it I wouldn’t have been surprised this might be the only app AI is capable of doing better

Worst app in history
Completely broken, impossible to create an account, reset password, etc. How are we supposed to buy tickets for the train if the app is broken?? Incredibly frustrating.

The user interface on this app is atrocious.
As bad as everyone says, if not worse
Even if I were to overlook the atrocious UI, the app is literally unusable. Attempting to create an account says my email is already in use, but attempting to reset my password says there’s no account associated with my email. I’m stuck in an endless time loop, experiencing a level of insanity and brain tissue degradation I can only imagine is similar to what this app’s designers must have been undergoing for years in order for them to think it would be acceptable to release something like this to the public. Avoid at all costs.

Absolute worst app
After 1 painful hour I have finally installed and updated a weak password, which I used just to create my account. My password app did not recognize this site, therefore the weak password, Once I established an account, I had to call to find the path for changing the password. No option was listed. BTW, you have to logout to see it. Not worth the anguish and time

This is effectively just a browser window. It’s not obvious (or even possible??) to find train schedules in the app, and forget about trying to coordinate with a Metro North train. Especially disappointing considering how good the MTA TrainTime app has gotten recently. Can CTRail borrow their engineering team a little bit to bring this app into the future???

Outstanding
The level of complete obsolescence is a feat of modern design and engineering rivaled by few. I’d like to applaud whichever half-sentient beings created this monstrosity, but clearly it would fall on deaf ears given the number of pleas to modernize this app that have gone untended. In particular, I would like to recognize the complete lack of ease, over-complication, and gratuity that reflects that of Connecticut itself. This app is like the DNC trying to fix systemic problems in America, except they atleast have enough sense to throw our tax dollars in large wads at the corpse until they can claim thy saw it move.

App not displaying purchased tickets
I purchased two tickets through the app using Apple Pay. The tickets show up in my email as purchased, but do not show up in the app. Therefore I can’t use the tickets on my phone.
