Awesome!

I got to track my progress and it motivated me to get the job of eliminating my debt done. Even when I had to stop a few months, I could start right where I left off!

Been using this app for years

This app was fantastic because it’s so basic I love it but I went to add a new debt and now it won’t open. Super sad.

Missing feature?

This seems pretty basic, which I like. However, is there no way to make a payment in between due dates? For example…I have an extra $150 that I want to apply to car payment separate from regular payment. How do you do that?

Beginning date

I would rate five stars if it had an option for a loan beginning date. Please add this option.
Other than that I’m happy with it.

One major problem

I’m transferring data from a different app manually in this app starts posting from the next month so you would have to turn your phone calendar back a month

FAQ

What is the Debt Payoff Assistant app?

Debt Payoff Assistant is a free, ad-supported application designed to help users pay off their debts efficiently. It primarily utilizes the debt-snowball method, where you pay minimums on all debts except the smallest, which you attack with extra payments. As debts are paid off, those payments are rolled into the next smallest debt, creating a 'snowball' effect.

What are the key features of this app?

The app allows tracking of unlimited debts, supports multiple payoff strategies (lowest balance first, highest balance first, highest interest first, custom ordering), and provides debt payment tracking. It also includes built-in calculators for payoff dates and mortgages, charts and reports to visualize progress, payment due date notifications, and passcode security for privacy.

Is this app free to use?

Yes, Debt Payoff Assistant is a free, full-featured version supported by advertisements. For an ad-free experience, users can search for 'Debt Payoff Pro' in the App Store.

What devices is the Debt Payoff Assistant compatible with?

The app is a Universal Binary, meaning it is designed to work on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices without requiring separate purchases for each. This ensures a consistent experience across Apple's mobile platforms.

How does the debt-snowball method work in this app?

The app guides you through the debt-snowball method by allowing you to list all your debts. You'll make minimum payments on all but one debt, focusing extra payments on the smallest balance. Once that debt is paid off, you add its previous payment amount to the extra payment for the next smallest debt, and so on, accelerating your payoff journey.
