Never on time

On demand is never on time, booked 15 minutes ago and it’s passed 30 minutes know waiting at the meadows transit centre, it just keeps circling the transit centre

-10\10

This service doesn’t respect its riders. Its crazy how you can book a bus at least 1 hour in advance but still be late, and most of the time its not even traffic it’s because the buses try and squeeze everyone in one ride and don’t realize that theres people on the bus that were told the arrival was going to be at 7:10, will still find themselves on the bus at 7:35 and not even be close to their destination. And you know what’s funny? That’s me right now. Im on the bus currently writing this review. This isnt a one time thing it’s an everyday occurrence.

tired of this dysfunctional incompetent system

this service sucks. i can never know when i'm gonna get where i need to be because routing is all over the place, and times are completely inconsistent. there is no structure to it. sometimes the bus will drop off and pick up people on busy routes where regular busses run every 5-10 minutes, while they rarely show up in neighborhoods that actually require their service because there is no bus route. it's completely ridiculous and you're probably better off spending money on an uber.

Not working

Me and my coworker changed our phones and the app stopped working in the new phone. Now it doesn’t work anymore.

Absolutely useless

It was working fine until the after the break or whatever update this is. Always says a ride is unavailable even though there are three vehicles roaming around and it keeps saying they waited too long when I was literally waiting for them to arrive.

FAQ

What is Edmonton On Demand Transit?

Edmonton On Demand Transit is a service that offers flexible shuttle bus rides to connect areas of the city without regular bus routes to Edmonton's main transit network. It operates 7 days a week, allowing users to book rides when they need them, reducing reliance on fixed bus schedules and potentially shortening wait times.

How do I book a ride?

You can book a ride by downloading the Edmonton On Demand Transit app and creating an account. Once logged in, confirm your location, input your destination, and select from available ride options. You can also book by calling 780-496-2400 or visiting edmonton.ca/OnDemandTransit.

Is there a cost to use this service?

The app itself is free to download and use. The service is operated on behalf of the City of Edmonton, and while the description doesn't explicitly state fare information, it implies a connection to the transit network, suggesting potential fares or integration with existing transit passes. Specific fare details would likely be available on the official website or through the app.

What are the wait times like?

Wait times vary depending on your trip and the time of day. During peak times, wait times are expected to be less than 30 minutes, and during off-peak times, less than 60 minutes. The app will provide an accurate estimate of your wait time before you book your trip.

Can I request an accessible shuttle?

Yes, the service uses accessible shuttle buses. If you use a wheelchair or other mobility device, have a child stroller, or need access to a built-in child safety seat, it's important to indicate this when booking through the app or mention it to the phone representative to ensure a spot is available for you.
