What's New in Emergency Plus

3.1.0

May 25, 2026

This update includes iOS compatibility improvements to help keep Emergency+ running smoothly on current Apple devices.

User reviews

Hard to read Latitude

Only one complaint . The latitude is in red on a black background and is hard for me to read. I’m red/green colour blind but my wife (not colour blind) also says it’s dull. I suggest you either reuse the blue or use a neutral colour like light green.

What happened

My wife was bitten by a snake two weeks ago. During the 150km drive to the hospital, I used the Emergency + app to call 000. The call simply dropped out. I called 000 instead from my keypad. Didn’t really inspire me with confidence in the app.

Works well

Can you add the ability to copy and paste the GPS location from the app to be used in an SMS or email?

Font colours in app

Opened app 1st time on trails. As a red green colour blind male, I found it very difficult to read the red text on a black background. Otherwise great idea.

Another 000 failure

How many lives lost? Not backwards compatible for earlier operating systems defeats its fundamental purpose. Who approved this change?????? No longer functional.

FAQ

What does the Emergency Plus app do?

The Emergency Plus app is designed to help users quickly call emergency services in Australia, such as Triple Zero (000). It also accurately communicates the user's location to emergency call-takers using GPS and the what3words system.

How does the app help with location accuracy?

The app utilizes your mobile phone's GPS functionality and integrates with what3words. This allows for precise location identification, even in remote areas or when data coverage is limited, by providing a unique three-word identifier for your location.

Is the Emergency Plus app free to use?

Yes, the Emergency Plus app is completely free to download and use. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements associated with the application.

What emergency numbers can I call with this app?

The app primarily helps you call Triple Zero (000) for urgent emergencies. It also provides options to call the SES and Police Assistance Line numbers, ensuring non-emergency calls are directed to the most appropriate service.

Can I use this app if I don't have mobile data?

Yes, the what3words feature within the Emergency Plus app works offline. This is particularly useful in remote locations or situations where you may have no data coverage, allowing you to still provide an accurate location.
