Terrible App & Poor Customer Service

This application demonstrates significant shortcomings in both functionality and customer service. I encountered unprofessional behavior from several members of the Damage Recovery Team, which exacerbated an already frustrating situation.

After booking a vehicle, I discovered that it had pre-existing damages, which were not disclosed prior to rental. I had expected Enterprise to employ a thorough inspection process to ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy before being made available for rental. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Consequently, the company has unfairly placed the financial responsibility for these pre-existing damages on me, despite my lack of involvement in causing them.

I urge others to reconsider using this app, as there are far superior alternatives available. Furthermore, I plan to share my negative experience on social media to raise awareness about these issues.

Needs app renovation

Needs a new interface and they need to put down your mileage costs rather than just taking money straight away without breakdown available to see

No competition

Way more expensive than Zipcar was, and they also take charges slow, they will take the payment some hours after reservation and then take the tunnel fees later after that. So u gotta make sure there’s money there otherwise it’s put down as a warning or some rubbish. Also the app is basic you have to go to the website to actually see billing and trip info etc. Lack of competition, it’s the closest car club to how Zipcar operated.

Verification

The app says my type of license requires personal indoor verification instead of digital on. That’s really bad as slots availability is not that good and I have to waste 2 hours of my time for that.
Disappointing

The app is super buggy and the support is pretty hopeless

Look, like a lot of people, the only reason I’m using these guys is because Zip car closed down. And that’s probably why the support isn’t great because they don’t need it to be great as don’t have much, if any, competition for the Car club market.

It’s not a terrible epic experience, but it’s not that much better. And the signup process was laborious and cumbersome.

If you can avoid it, avoid it

If you have to live with it, then just know what your getting yourself in for

An Organisational Mess

We rented a van through an Enterprise branch for our flat move. A week before we were contacted by a sales rep pushing us to change our booking to the Car Club and setting us up with a free one-year membership. There was no issue with the van at the branch, but they were pushy so we made the switch to the Car Club rental. The night before our booking we got a call to say that our vehicle was not charging properly and that we would only be starting the day with 44% battery. We conceded, knowing we needed to do the move and we’d only be going a few miles at a time within the city. On the day of our booking, we arrived to find our van completely parked in, with the charging port about 2cm from the back of the vehicle and a public vehicle in front of us. Enterprise wasn’t really able to help us when we called, saying they couldn’t find us another van. I asked if they could find one for a different time window and they said nothing was available, but when I looked on the app I found one within the window we were asking about. If they had just left us with our original booking to pick up at the branch, we wouldn’t have had to deal with any of this mess on an already stressful moving day

Not user friendly

Location is not easy to find and would be nice to be able to take photos of the car on the app. Also not easy to find specific cars in specific locations

Good idea, terrible app

I have had useful hires through this club. But the app is a real pain. For example, if you want to book a van, you can filter by vehicle type, but you’d have to know what model of van is near you, or select every van type that enterprise does. Why not have a ‘van’ option?
And if you want to hire a car, from a specific location but timing is flexible (eg in the next few days), you can only check by requesting repeated options until availability comes up.
Lastly the cost is quoted ‘excluding mileage’ but you can’t check the mileage cost at that step on the app.
These could be so easily fixed. It feels lazy and entitled of the company to leave these faults in place and I hope another company replaces them soon

User end experience

App UI could be better in the way that it could be programmed to be more intuitive.

For example, looking at reservations requires rummaging through multiple options instead of providing exact times of availability.

Additionally, sometimes when searching, certain time slots will be prompted as available but upon finishing, you’re told that you must leave a 15 minute window between your reservation and somebody else’s. Instead of 15 minutes, it should be brought to 10 minutes as that would permit more reservations to work with the allotted 15 minute periods.

In short, restructure the reservation intervals, make the UI more intuitive, and the app would be golden.

No response to my application

It’s been almost 6 days since I applied even though it says 48 hour turn around time. I selected verify online. No response to my follow-ups either.

Works, but a bit clunky

It's functional. But I often have to call customer service to resolve issues

Awesome service. Terrible App

Curious how such a fantastic service has such a terrible app

Very expensive service with very limited cars on the streets of central London.

Fleet of Zipcars were easily accessible across London. Enterprise must expand its fleet to cover central London with flexibility to drop off cars rather than round trips.

12 months

I subscribed in Feb 2025z
The local branch never recognised that I was a member and I was not charged for joining. I hired a car twice for the branch instead. Now 13 months later I am being charged £69 with emails from Enterprise Car Club insisting that I am a member. I never was allowed to use it.
I the interim time I decided to purchase a car on finance and hire it out to others an a more honest car hire platform .
If the Enterprise branch recognised my membership and had electric cars without leather I would have been a customer.

Ease of use

Should put licence plate number on view when selecting vehicle

Good Review

Im a new user of enterprise, the cars are in mint condition and the customer service is always neat !!! Great car share app

Crashes all the time

I paid £20 to sign up and once my documents were all verified, I cannot hire any cars because the app just crashes every time I select a car to hire. Useless

Good car rental

Really good model with quality cars. Downside is that Enterprise doesn’t look to have enough cars, which just becomes a nightmare for short term rentals.

Hard to find car location on booking

Smart phone cannot turn to portrait view so street name and post code cannot fully shown. Also it cannot link to map view. Please improve.

So delighted to be a member of ECC… such an environmentally friendly, economical, and convenient way to have access to independent travel. Lots of cars and good availability in Edinburgh… highly recommend membership
