With the new update it’s not showing my water level says unavailable

Frustrating App Experience – Basic Features Don’t Work

For a product like Gardyn that relies heavily on its app, you’d expect the basic functionality to work properly. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience.

The app provides instructional links to help users learn how to perform certain tasks, but those links aren’t clickable, making it unnecessarily difficult to access important information. On top of that, the app doesn’t provide a proper way to manage your membership, which is frustrating when you’re paying for a subscription.

Users shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to access instructions or manage something they’re being charged for. These are basic features that should be standard in any subscription-based app.

Gardyn needs to prioritize fixing these usability issues and giving customers more control over their memberships. The concept is great, but the app experience needs serious improvement.

Expensive reminder app

The Gardyn itself is cool. The app is NOT worth the money. Nothing is specific to your Gardyn. The app is just feeding general information on a schedule. I don’t need to pay $250 to be reminded to use fertilizer.

Fresh & Green all year.

I’m coming up to a whole year of growing in my kitchen. We have had fresh lettuce, crazy good tomatoes, peppers, herbs, kale, and so many other veggies I can’t remember growing steps from my counter. It’s amazing! And, as our backyard garden closes down at the end of the growing season, I just started a nursery of newbies for my forever Gardyn! It’s so beautiful easy! It’s fun! And, there is just something hopeful about green in my kitchen.

Cool product terrible app

Despite the fact that it's uploading 70 MB of pictures every day to azure and checking in every 30 seconds on unencrypted HTTP, the app still continues to say that it's not connected and won't let me use any of the app controls.

Paywall BS

They want to lock you into a subscription just to run your $800 machine

Easy for Beginners

I purchased my first studio too and really enjoyed it. I had zero previous experience and the app made it easy to set up, feed, water, etc. I like it so much. I bought a second used studio two and just got that started. I only issue is the website recommended the studio size for me and my husband, and it is too small with not enough output. Go for a larger unit.

white elephant gift. waste of money.

I was given this as a present two years ago and unbeknownst to me, I have to pay $40 a month to manage my hydroponic. The machine itself cost over a grand so this is an egregious money grab. Shame on this company for making their features less and less accessible.

Disappointed

We had the paid version of this app for the first year and we used all our plant credits and had a huge back stock so we decided not to renew. The free version of the app is so useless. Yes, you can schedule your lighting and watering schedules. That’s about it.
The app no longer gives you reminders for the basic maintenance schedule for your device as of a recent update. I am so disappointed that the journal feature is not available in the free version. We can’t even track our maintenance schedule there. On top of that, the membership is crazy expensive. If it was like $5/mo to access the app features and get no plants, that would be one thing but I cannot possibly justify the cost when I have a closet full of pods already.

Poor app in 2026

No off-hand metrics, schedules, histories, basically just a sales gimmick wrapped in an app

Misleading Pricing

I bought the Gardyn as a birthday present to myself and since, I have come to absolutely LOATH this company. The pricing is 1000% misleading. After spending $600 for a plastic tub, you expect us to pay $30/month with a two year commitment (that’s $700 people!!!) to keep it going? To be clear when you first buy the Gardyn, they give you two weeks of access to “Kelby” the “ai” assistant that tells you when to water, trim, etc. Yet the app never publicly lists any kind of subscription costs. The actual cost is over $30/month unless you sign a multi-year deal which more than doubles the cost. This is misleading marketing at its worst. The only green you’ll be seeing is the $$$ you constantly throw away to keep this POS going.

Fun without the sun

I have had my unit for about a month growing is easy enough and I am currently harvesting so thats been awesome flavor is good fresh the only drawback is the expense at this point not sure its cost affective I don’t like that you need to purchase PVC caps that are way over priced I think that should all come with the initial purchase then only pay for replacement or additional items

Great!

I can’t say enough good things about My Gardyn! I absolutely LOVE it. Worth the price.

My Gardyn

Wow. This is an amazing hobby. I love tending to my Gardyn. It’s brought me some joy since my husband passed in February. It’s helped me deal with it by keeping me busy but not too busy that it’s too much.

Amazing!

So happy I took the plunge and invested in this garden. We’re hosting our daughter’s wedding so I wanted all my pots and raised beds full of flowers this year. Bought things I could at least grow my salads inside. And what salads they are, bought two more for my house in Florida.

Pay to play

I bought this thing but they never stop trying to sell me a membership for it to work properly. Scam

Recent notification update messes so much up!

Me, as many others, can’t always afford an ongoing subscription.
The most recent update no longer sends notifications unless you have a membership! Not even a simple reminder to do a tank refresh. Very disappointing.
If Gardyn claims to actually care about their customers and our planet they wouldn’t make it so membership based. It’s ridiculous. Feels like they’re just another loser company that wants our money:/ I hope they do better as the system itself is well made and they have great information.

Grows great

With the app it is a no brainer. Fresh salad every week.

Love It!

I’ve had my GARDYN for 3 years and honestly, it’s just so therapeutic. The support is amazing and growing herbs and veggies in small batches are just fun and nutritious! I will alternate mine from herbs and veggies one time to just flowers the next and the results are beautiful and just add warmth to any environment

Horrible system

This system having to be connected to wi-fi is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot get my system to connect so I’m stuck with a $900 system that I cannot use. We tried contacting the company and did everything that guy told us to do without success. It is so unnecessary to have to connect to WiFi. It’s gardening for God’s sake. Do better Gardyn.
