Latest updates broke iPad variant
Gmail has been a good app for such a long time. Unfortunately lately it has been going downhill. Some (advanced) features are just not working. Like, when on an iPad (landscape) in “All Inboxes” performing actions (using left hand set of action icons) on multiple emails across several accounts no longer works - the action only works on current account’s emails. That is, 1) When someone has multiple different gmail accounts setup, working within the combined universal “All Inboxes”, Select multiple emails across several accounts and perform any action on these emails from the main window (e.g. mark as read, delete) - that action only gets performed on the current active focused email, not the selected emails. If one selects one of the limited actions from the icons on the left above the folders list (landscape view) that action is performed across the selected emails. This is new & odd behaviour. Both sets of icons once did and still should work the same. 2) Also you can not select multiple emails from the same account and perform actions, like set Labels, across these multiple emails. You can only do it one email at a time via the right side icon set. And 3) the “Select All” option that appears on the first email select, makes the screen change shifting the list and therefore the position where you may tap on the next email — this too is unwelcome new behaviour. UPDATE: And to Gmail Support that emailed me following posting this review…Note this is not an email sync or account sync issue. On an iPad in Landscape view, all email action icons used to behave the same, now the two sets act differently. The ones that appear on the right when you Select email(s) and the set above the main open email view, oddly and frustratingly behave differently.

Google Gmail doit vraiment arrêter de remettre en circulations les mails supprimés d’infinitif des client je suis tombé sur un de mes mails que j’ai abandonné et j’ai retrouvé une autre personne qui a eux la même idée que moi c’est vraiment dangereux et aussi faut vraiment arrêter de données aux personnes la possibilité de trouver des mails avec un numéro de portable avec sont nom et prénom faut vraiment retirer cette option c’est deux problèmes sont des failles de sécurité ou les gens envoie des mails vu qu’il ont oublié de fermer totalement leur service chez des clients ou création jeux ou abonnement. c’est le seul grand service qui peut réafficher un compte possible en tapant numéro de téléphone + nom/prénom dans la récupération de compte.
Les autres fournisseurs ne remettent pas en circulation des adresses supprimées et ne permettent pas ce type de recherche. vous luttez contre le risque de sécurité d’un côté et vous ouvrez la fenêtre de l’autre ou et la logique je critique pas c’est une sonnette d’alarme uniquement.

Lacks features, limited functionality
Despite the things it can do, the Gmail app lacks features and has limited functionality compared to Apple Mail and doesn’t offer a way to turn off the email reading pane (somehow, I turned it on by clicking the screen edge; and now I can’t turn it off despite a web search indicting there’s a menu option for “no split” - there’s no such option). Some useful features - to name a few - would include Gmail remembering where I file emails from certain senders and letting me search my email labels from the “move to” menu (without me needing to turn on AI; these aren’t features that require AI to function). Also, there’s a bug in the app: if I create a new label/folder when moving an email, the app becomes unresponsive to touch and I have to close and reopen it each time).

Where’s my sent mail
No sent mail is displayed in that box for last month. Have deleted and reinstalled several times. Even test emails to myself don’t show in sent box.

Why ads!? This is supposed to be email! Total bait and switch! They get you hooked on gmail and then blow your inbox up and you can't see what is important and what is an ad! It is better to pay for real email elsewhere unless they get rid of the ads.
