Small Credit Gains, Big Headaches
For example, a payment might go through one month, but then the same company may not accept it for the next few months. I’m not sure why, but it can be frustrating and unreliable.
Another issue I’ve noticed is that Grow Credit doesn’t allow you to make another payment within 30 days of your previous one. So if you paid late one month and want to get back on schedule the next month, you may not be able to. That can make it difficult to stay current and may lead to a cycle of late payments unless you skip using the service for a month to reset the timing.
Overall, it feels like the app and service could use improvements on the backend to make the experience smoother and more user-friendly. Oh did I mention you’re not able to change your address within the app?
Yeah…smh
Also, after using Grow Credit for years, I personally didn’t see a major impact on my credit score — only a small increase. For me, the hassle outweighed the benefit.
Grow Credit was once great but has now been ran down
Finally got it working and the subscription payments have been hit or miss. Imagine thinking payments are being made only to receive emails that your card has been declined. Then you reach out to customer support and get the same canned response. And then being told we would suggest using other options until the issue is fixed. What they don’t stop is the monthly fee coming out every month even when you can’t use the service you’re paying for
Unreliable
Was Great Service
are also extremely slow in adding more streaming services to their platform. They also advertise the monthly fee is up to $9.99 depending on your account level but they actually charge $12.99 a month. Lastly their highest level has a spending limit of $150.00 monthly which is extremely low considering the increasing cost Streaming services.
DO NOT USE!! Unreliable Service & Privacy Concern
After inquiring them another time about this, they only said “We understand this must be confusing and frustrating, we are really sorry about that. These are system integration updates, so we are not able to predict the time frame, as soon as is restored we will notify you. We sincerely apologize about the inconvenient this situation might be.”
So be warned, they have caused nothing but stress over these issues, when their service should help make things easier for its customers. NOT worth it at all.
Great Service
Exspensive
Which you can obtain from a credit union without a monthly charge of $7-$23+ a month!
Join a credit union rather than a bank,
And ask them about getting a secured credit card.
Then you pay your monthly bills like your phone bill or whatever, and you make at least a minimum payment to that secured credit card every month to avoid getting any interest rate so your building credit and Not having to pay a monthly fee for a very small line of credit (this app only offers $17 to like a max of $50)
Don’t use it
Was good until the update
Horrible Company
Inaccurate reporting to credit
Used to be a great app
Recently my account was closed without warning (apparently some sponsorship thing in their end), but since then the app is a shadow of what it used to be.
Trash
Update 09/06/2025: App is back to functioning as designed. It was just some patience as they transitioned. Back to what it used to be and better when it comes to subscriptions.
