I had this collar for exactly 12 months. Today, I got the alert that it is malfunctioning and I was given the opportunity to replace it for $450.00.

Very unhappy
I have a pit bull and bought this collar to detour him from leaving my yard while wearing the collar he jumped my fence and ran off the collar did nothing to him it is charged before you even ask and I paid for the subscription. Very unhappy
So easy to train
I can hardly believe it. I was walking our cockapoo along the borders of our fence and the collar vibrated, which frankly scared him to death and he didn’t know where to go, but I had a leash on him and calmly told him to come back over here. He was so flustered that I didn’t know if he picked up on the warning beep. But the next day approaching a different boundary he stopped, thought about it a minute and then calmly turned around. Now he is enjoying the freedom of being leash free on our 4 acres.

Exceptional App & Company
This app is excellent. I have an IPhone and husband has Android. Both of us use the app and have had no issues whatsoever. User friendly and overall very easy to use.

GPS not accurate
my well-behaved dog is now deathly afraid to go outside. Apparently the boundary shifted about 30 feet and my dog got zapped in our driveway! Not very happy about this. And then it’s like our app was in frozen mode. I took the collar off walked 30 feet across the boundary watching my phone stood there. It never beeped and then I walked back toward my property and on my phone. It finally showed me like with a 10 second delay going the opposite direction 30 feet outside the boundary and then it seemed like it was frozen then finally got caught up on itself and it was back to normal. How can we remedy this halo?

GPS collar location
Our yard is not huge and we wanted to give our dogs as much space as possible. We have recently been having issues with the collar saying it’s in one place when really it’s right next to us leading to the collar beeping and sometimes crossing the line. I’ll call it a GPS signal drift. Otherwise it’s great

Both of my dogs have come home mud free and have not been close to the road since day 1!
Battery Hog!
Aside from the fast drain on my battery I really love the app. Before installing the Halo app and configuring my dogs collar, I could go nearly all day on half a charge. Now I use about a half charge by 1pm (6 or so hours off the charger).
Works as advertised
I have a 1.5 year old Labrador Retriever. She is very high energy. I started training her on her boundaries with this as a puppy at about 6-9 months as we live next to a busy state highway. She quickly learned the boundaries of the 4-5 acres she is allowed to roam in. She rarely tests boundaries anymore but if she gets close the audio feedback is enough to turn her around. She has not received the static feedback in some time. Being able to let her out to run around without worrying about her getting in the road is a huge relief and she is a happy dog to have the freedom to roam and run on our property.
The collar can also be used for other training purposes. I also use the audio feedback via the phone app around strangers to discourage her from jumping up on new people with excitement.
My only two complaints are one, sometimes when she is indoors it loses her location and thinks she is outside the boundary. This has not happened often but is confusing for her as it applies feedback for no reason. This can be addressed with an indoor beacon set to ignore boundaries but is inconvenient. Two, I have the halo 2+ collar and it is NOT water proof. My Lab is a working dog as I am an avid duck hunter and I wanted to use the collar in retriever training. I quickly found that the collar was not waterproof and stoped letting her swim in it. HALO actually replaced the collar once as it was ruined from water intrusion. Great customer service. I think they may have addressed this with the HALO 3 collar but have not upgraded yet due to the cost. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a collar keep their dog safe and would certainly buy again.

It’s very helpful When taking our dog on walks and telling him when did you know, especially with the whistle and warning shock feature
To expensive and not worth it
I usually don’t like to leave a bad comment but this is a must buyer beware. I am so disappointed with this product, the quality is terrible the price is outrageous taking into consideration that you not only pay for the product you also have to pay a monthly fee and extra fee for protection. My dogs still leave the gate, the collars stop working and I try to reach out the customer service, they leave you in a virtual room and never answer back, they email you and don’t answer back, they tell you not to use the product because there is malfunction on the product and offer a replacement for $199 mind I just bought this product for $500 less than a year ago. The GPS only works near the wifi connection forget about you must pay a monthly fee for accordingly to them be able to track the pet outside the circle. This is worth than any other brand I have used mind I have Belgian Malinois and been trying different brands with them. My daughter had the same issues but returned the product within the time they were able to get it back.

Excellent system
I live on 60 acres. My dogs are working livestock guardians and my neighbors run cattle. I absolutely have to keep my dogs on my property but they need the freedom to roam the entire property. The Halo collars are working fantastically. I can go to town and the system still keeps my dogs on property and I can even see where they are from 100 miles away.

Beacons don’t work
I bought the halo5 collar over another collar because of the “keep away” zone beacons and remote beacons, unfortunately they only work intermittently (works less than 50/50). Wish I had known that they only work intermittently before wasting my time and money on this device. Tech support was useless and condescending. Had a Garmin wireless collar before that worked well, unfortunately Garmin dropped the line of collars. Seems like if a company could come in and make a descent wireless dog collar they could make some money. Halo 5 is not that product. Hopefully they will let me return it. I got my doubts.

Just about perfect
The halo has changed our world. The device is a wonderful choice to manage your dog’s movements and freedom. There are 3 upgrades still needed.
1) longer battery life
2) multiple users need to be able to access the app so when you travel someone else can monitor the collar.
The charger and connection are terrible and often don’t connect properly.

Halo is AMAZING!
We have an Australian Shepherd who loves to roam. The GPS fence is phenomenal!

This is the absolute best product that I have purchased for my dogs!! Easy to use, my dogs all respond to the fence barriers! We can even use it on vacation which is a bonus.!
