Risk meets Running
For a dad-bod military veteran carrying a few service-related injuries, this app has become more than just exercise. It helps restructure the thought process from focusing on what you used to be able to do, to focusing on what you can still achieve. It turns exercise into a positive mindset and a proactive lifestyle choice.
I’m nowhere near as fast or fit as I used to be, but it doesn’t matter because it’s not about the speed it’s about conquering land similar to the board game ‘Risk’. There’s also something extremely satisfying about getting out there and conquering territory from semi-professional runners and athletes knowing that when they next check the app they’ll know it was me that took their hard earned land.
My young daughter and I both enjoy going out on our ‘little missions’, stealing land and battling the local cardio queens for the neighbourhood. She also enjoys the pop up notifications that celebrate the small wins encouraging you along the way.
Should INTVL have seperate rankings for runners and walkers? Yes, probably, but for now it’s good to be mobile again, while burning a few calories.
Getting better, but still buggy
Can you just link it to Nike or Strava runs already?
