This will be my fourth flight to Europe via Lufthansa. Each time the Lufthansa personnel I’ve dealt with have been professional, capable, thorough, as well as friendly, and courteous.

Terrible app for a terrible airline
This was a horrible experience from start to finish. Buggy, flawed, awful UX - and then you have to deal with miserly, petty, Lufthansa themselves. Avoid.
Won't Login
I have signed up for this app, however when I log into my account I only get the spinning wheel for ever and never logs me in. Very poor.

Complicated to use
Many intrusive questions in the setup. After that I cannot find my booking with the flight number. Other airlines allow that

This App still remains one of the worst flying Apps.
Upgrades to business are not correctly shown (I was shown an upgrade even though the upgrade was still pending).
The App still does not allow me to check in because of my US green card - but lets me go through the entire check in process just to tell me at the very end that check in is not possible.
The App does not show boarding passes after check in at the counter.
The App does also still discriminate against women. Even though I am the one booking the flights for my husband and me through my account, the booking is under my husband’s name.
I expect better from Lufthansa. Look how United does it. So much better!

Seat change
I chose my seat months before flying. I chose 2 seats window and aisle in a 2-3-2 configuration. when I tried to board I was told my seats had been changed. No one could tell me why. Someone suggested it was to accommodate a family. when I boarded and looked at the seat I should have had there was a lone blond woman sitting in it. No children. No others. I got an aisle and middle seat. I’m a United gold member. Lufthansa sucks.

I have I have a fantastic flight with an awesome crew.
Everything about Lufthansa is amazing. I wouldn't trade this experience for any other flight I've ever been on.
Buggy
App says I must go to website to add seat. Website says I need to go to app to add seat. Endless loop. Meanwhile website won’t login, hangs. Same as last year when I used app. Quality control testing needed to fix these simple bugs.
Upgrade Scam
I had a flight where they offered me a an upgrade with a price on my Home Screen. It was only however for my second leg which was a short one hour flight. My upcoming flight was not part of the promotion.
Upon calling with one hour of the booking, they refused to refund it (even though it was within 24hrs). I found this offer to be positioned unfairly in the app and I feel poorly treated as a customer. I reached out to their customer relations team multiple times and they refused to help me.

Impossible to access services as a guest
The app makes it incredibly difficult to access services if you are not a Lufthansa member - and even if you have registered your email with them. Can’t access paid seat changes, can’t purchase an upgrade, can’t input address using the ridiculous predictive address system, can’t even complete check in. And this has happened multiple times. What a fail by the airline.

First time on Lufthansa
It’s the first time flying Lufthansa.
I didn’t know what to expect. We took a direct flight from Chicago to Frankfurt. Our experience with this airline was great, from using the app, to boarding and to the service onboard. All was great. I will fly them again at our next trip to Europe. Seats 16A/C on the A340-300 were a excellent value for the cost.

Check-in not working
I couldn’t complete check in. The app insists on a residence permit for Germany even though we are just transiting in Frankfurt.
