Paid for a window seat, but KLM reassigned it
I am very disappointed with KLM’s handling of my seat reservation. I purchased my ticket and paid an additional fee specifically to select a window seat for my flight from Chicago to Amsterdam.
KLM later changed the aircraft and automatically reassigned my seat, taking away the window seat that I had already paid for.
I understand that operational changes and aircraft substitutions can happen. However, when a passenger pays extra for a specific seat preference, KLM should either provide an equivalent seat or promptly refund the additional amount paid.
It is extremely frustrating to pay extra to secure a window seat and then have that selection taken away through no fault of the passenger. A paid seat selection should not simply disappear because the airline changes the aircraft.
I expect KLM to either restore an equivalent window seat without charging me again or refund the full amount I paid for the original seat selection.
