Sell your data to google

I have used this app for more then a year and their workout app since it came out and I really like it but hate how they use google for statistics, api, and for there servers with no privacy settings or protections! You would think since we are paying more then $100 per year they would protect their customers very personal and easily identifiable info like what we EAT EVERYDAY and our DAILY WEIGHT but they don’t care as they seem too busy redesining there app store page from week to week and paying for ads to care about privacy, security, and anonymity! I really do pray they change their app so their customers data is more private, secure and annonymous like by keeping data local or on icloud and using eather there own or privacy-centered services. Bet they wont even responed!

Makes your life easier

I don’t think I’ve ever written an app review, but this one deserves it! The AI function is exceptional and I love how simple and straightforward the app is. No annoying add-ons. You can fully customise your dashboard and it’s very user-friendly, which as a graphic designer I do appreciate.

Good tool

It’s accurate

Best one out there

I have been tracking my calories for over 15 years now and this is the best platform I have com across so far. I love the nutritional plan, informative, simple, not annoying in any way. It does not shame you either. The adaptive plan really helps me want to record my data more, knowing it’s feeding into something. Wish more health apps had this kind of interface.

You need to allow tracker synchronization

This app is good. I thought it would really help me so I even bought the annual subscription. What’s really the point of pain is that even though someone might be sedentary 99% of the time, there will be some high activity days. The app would be far more accurate if it gets expenditure data from health trackers. Binging has become an issue. Has happened to me multiple times already where I was starving the next day and I had already filled my calorie budget (and I did a lot of high volume food that day to keep me full). So I had to eat more. If the app had syncing capabilities the coach could give some extra calories the next day. A calorie tracker should be able to do that. Especially for its paid subscribers.

Few Languages

I missed the Portuguese (Brazil) language

Can't try it without committing for a whole month.

App devs need to understand that there are a whole lot of apps promising the same things. I refuse to sign up for even a month without being able to use the app, even if only for a day. Way too many subscriptions out there. I need to know that I'm giving money towards an app that I will use. So, no free trial, no go.

Really great app—1 suggestion

This is a great app for tracking and monitoring caloric intake for weight loss. The algorithm it uses to predict actual v. scale weight is really helpful for the mental game of weight loss. The ONLY issue I have for it is that it doesn’t account for water retention for individuals with a 28 day menstrual cycle. The algorithm takes any stagnancy or gain during the luteal phase and factors it into the proposed strategy for the next week—often resulting in stricter calorie recommendations during the times of the month when it’s harder to stick to a diet.

I think if the app is going to track the gender or menstrual cycle of the user, it should be programmed to accommodate the normal fluctuations in body weight from a 28 cycle perspective. Right now, it only has a period tracker function. Which doesn’t even seem to affect the overall recommendations of the app.

All that to say: if you are someone with a 28 day hormone cycle, I would recommend taking the weight loss strategies less seriously during times that your body naturally bloats or needs more fuel. If any developers are reading this, it would be really nice to add a level of customization to the app that accounts for the fluctuations for all four stages of the menstrual cycle—not just an independent period tracker.

Editing unfriendly

Editing wrong barcoded values isn’t allowable

Wish I could share a plate

Both my wife and I decided to use the app and love it. The hourly tracking is great and the weekly check-in is genius. It’s nice to know that the calories/nutrients allotted is based off your daily weigh-in’s and the composition of what you eat the previous week.

I only wish I could share a plate with my wife and not just recipes as we often have the same meals. Currently we both have to search for every individual ingredients which can be a little frustrating and time consuming. Hopefully this is a feature that can be added in the near future.

Too easy

This is my latest of many attempts to track my food and TDEE to lose weight. It is so much easier and quicker to log that I feel for the first time that it’s sustainable in the long term. Great job on this app and excellent UX.

easy to use

Ever since embarking on my weight loss journey, I keep coming back to MacroFactor. The AI photo feature is the best!

Confusing

Seems like it’s way more complicated than it needs to be. I understand that you’re trying to par every single unit, but it doesn’t make it easy from the user perspective. I am not gonna stick with it. It seems un intuitive.

Why are calories set so low

Not sure about this app for woman. It sets calories obscenely low and doesn’t seem capable of accounting for hormonal fluctuations. I guess this is only good for men because if you’re a woman it’ll just keep reducing your target calories every week. Pretty dangerous if you’re not smart enough to know not to accept its calorie targets. Doesn’t really have much utility beyond calorie counting and there are tonnes of other (free) ways to do that.

Fix your app

Data stop being integrated from Health app, i have to un-share and share several times to get it to pull data and sometimes that does even work. I have to manually input data. $70 a year for a broke app, what else is broke that we don’t know about, is the diet recommendations even accurate?

Best Tool for your Nutrition Goal

Recommend it everyone who wants to lose fat and bills muscle - save yourself the headache and use MacroFactor!

DO NOT USE IT

You literally write “cooked rice” and it calculates as raw rice’s calorie 🤡
