Missing balances
Newest version of the app does not show the running or available balance for all transactions visible on the transaction history
Has Problems
The app tells me I need to download the latest version when I am using the latest version. This occurs several times a year after an update.
Update Version 2026.9.1 on 16 Sep 2026
After installing this update today, the security check that is on the app’s sign-off page is stating, “You're currently using an old version of our app. For enhanced security, please update to our newest version.” The link to update now lands to the App Store for today’s update which I already installed. It didn’t happen before today’s update. This is for an iOS device.

Security
Doesn’t have good options for security when they lock you account for a transaction you had. Most likely tracking and selling your data at this rate.
Can’t even sign in now
For the last 2-3 weeks I haven’t been able to sign into the app on my iPad, every time I try I get a message saying an error has occurred. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app several times, and waited patiently for an app upgrade hoping that would fix it. Upgrade came today, still can’t sign in.

Hard to sign on to.
The app used to be easy but know mine requires a password and two step authentication. Too didficult for me. Using other cards much more because their apps don't have the hassle.
Annoying is an understatement
They’re always doing maintenance then they always want to sign you out of your account to where you have to use a username and password and not your fingerprint or face ID. If you don’t want us using face ID or fingerprints then don’t offer it. At this point I’m having to search for my unique username and password multiple times a month because every company thinks they’re special and they want different requirements for their app’s passwords. Take me back to 2005.

Not working
I have not been able to log into my app for almost a week now. I have deleted it and downloaded it back and still nothing. Please help!
New & “Improved” Rewards Program
The new Rewards Program is worse all around. The fact it still opens in a browser page is also dumb. Over the last 5 years navy fed has gotten continuously worse.
Login is now slower. Not sure why but instead of instantly pulling up Face ID when you click sign in it loads for a bit then starts Face ID. I don’t know why it doesn’t automatically login with Face ID like other banking apps when you start it to begin with.

Never works when you need it
I have had mutiple situations where I’m standing somewhere before ordering attempting to transfer money or even check my balance but the app will just not let me log in and shuts down. Leading to many issues where I couldn’t even spend MY money cause the app didn’t work. Good when it works but terrible when it doesn’t… and that’s 50% of the time.

Gets Worse Each Update
“Invalid Email” on launch every time for a year. Doesn’t show accounts anymore. Crashes. Come on Navy!?
Horrible
Just an overall horrible banking experience. This app functions like a website from the early 2000’s. Currently stuck on verifying my Card for apple wallet but there’s no button to press. Just a white screen. Nothing on this app is seamless. Everything you try to do will come with a headache. It’s like they punish you for being a customer

I’ve been using NFCU for a long time now, just today as I’m leaving this review, for some reason there was a decision that’s been made. I was able to transfer money from my checking to my savings account. Instead of transferring it the day of, it’s now telling me I have to transfer it the next day. Can you please fix this as soon as possible, this is not good. If I want to transfer money, I don’t want to wait the next day for the money, I need it to be transferred into my savings the day of.

Constantly getting fixed?
It’s so bad that I can’t even access my account lately because y’all are constantly fixing this app. This is why I’ve been using Cash App more. I’m about to close my account altogether because this has been a huge inconvenience to me the past two months, every time I need to use the app it doesn’t work.
Edit: It’s even funnier that I can’t even use the website to sign in and check my account 11am on a Friday. I click sign in and it’s 404 error? That’s the icing on the cake for me. Like there is no physical branches that I can go to either to at least see how much I have in my account. It’s ridiculous.

App keeps crashing leaving no access
Passcode
You can’t login with a passcode anymore. You have to use your phone code or full login info. Wish they didn’t change it.
Updates
We love this app but they are constantly conducting maintenance in which you have to wait minutes to hours before you have access to your account. Before it would be rare now it’s common like every month sometimes a few times a month!
We needed to access our account at one point however, we had to wait 3 hours before we could smh. We use this app quite often and it’s very unfortunate that there a times we’re having to wait because of constant maintenance being done.
