I’ve read a lot of bad reviews but I’ve had Novo for 6 months now and my insurance has never been lower. This last month was 135 on a 2025 Hyundai Elantra . My insurance prior to switching was 300 a month for example

I’ve been with Novo for about 3–4 months, and this has been one of the worst insurance experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been a contracted delivery driver for a major company for three years with a clean record, so I expected Novo’s Safe Driving Discount Program to be a good fit. It wasn’t. The app relies on Bluetooth, which constantly disconnects or connects to devices that aren’t even driving. It feels intrusive and unreliable. After the first day, the app started flagging false events…off‑track driving, hard braking, speeding none of which happened. When I called to dispute the errors, customer service was polite, but the technical support wasn’t helpful. They insisted the data was correct, essentially calling me dishonest, and then banned me from submitting further disputes. At this point, it feels like the driving score system is designed to drop your score over time so your discount disappears by the end of the term. I wish I could upload screenshots to show how inconsistent the tracking is. It’s easier to just leave this company behind and move on.
I strongly recommend avoiding Novo. Save yourself the frustration and regret.

Fast, easy and affordable
Easy to use
Very intuitive app
Has its pros and cons
It’s like any other app of this magnitude. They are judging the wrong things of a vehicle literally judging the wrong things cause people that stand major major cities are always gonna have a hard break at any given time and it ain’t all from them following too close, it’s just from people not paying attention cutting people off almost hitting them things of that nature being a drug driver over 27 years of doing it over the road outside my regular everyday life, driving acceleration, rapid acceleration in some states you don’t have short you don’t have a long acceleration line. You have short acceleration lanes you getting on the interstate at 75 miles an hour you gotta get in the floor of that traffic. That’s even talk to anybody in school of any sort, I don’t care if it’s trucking I don’t care if it’s drivers Ed is taught that so this high acceleration thing y’all have that need to change because rapid acceleration is part of the car they wouldn’t put up what they call a passing gear that particular format of acceleration in a vehicle just to be there because people trying to get on an interstate not going to speed limit getting on y’all having these people be more of an accident prone situation than anything and don’t even know it. People here on interstate 55 into a 75 mile hour zone not safe at all. Y’all talk about safety be about it because this year I can report to and watch as a driver over the road over the years out there and watch more accidents happen because of the fact people getting on the interstate too slow not going fast enough watch many of them happens when people cutting other people off right at their nose and I said write the note I can talk about it. I got cameras all over my car so you basically leave one thing I don’t hit my break for no reason I barely saw them touch them.

Terrible company
Terrible company; they don't inform the MVD that you are insured with them, and as a result, the MVD has suspended my registration.
You pay what’s on your declaration page!
I was a Novo customer for six months and initially paid between $150–$180 per month based on my driving. After buying a new car in January 2026, my premium suddenly jumped to nearly $290 per month—even though I went from a supercharged turbo Volvo T6 to a Hyundai Elantra, which I expected would be less expensive to insure.
Wanting to understand why, I spent an entire month (May 27–June 26) driving as carefully as possible. I even downloaded two independent driving apps to track my acceleration. Both gave me a perfect score of 100.
Here’s what didn’t make sense: Novo also gave me a 100% driving score, yet my pricing score was only 90, which removed me from the top 10% of drivers and increased what I paid.
When I called customer service, I was told that Novo measures the movement of your phone—not the movement of your vehicle—to calculate acceleration. That means if your phone shifts, slides, or moves inside the car, it can affect your acceleration score and, ultimately, your pricing.
Before signing up, check your declarations page and divide the six-month premium by six so you know your actual monthly cost. Also, ask exactly how your driving is being scored and how that score translates into your premium.
This was my experience, and I think consumers deserve more transparency about how pricing scores are calculated.

This is a wonderful rate. Every time we have a concern they are prompt. Renewal is easy and quick. Our rate even went down!! We are so happy with NOVO
Sensitive Bluetooth reading
I don’t mind having to track my driving I’ve done it with other apps and companies but this one is so sensitive especially to “hard braking” it doesn’t allow you to decelerate any less than 7mph every second so I get big points deducted and when I drive well I only go up one point it makes it very hard to even concentrate on the road and on my driving when I’m constantly trying to manage the speed of everything to not get points deducted I even count now to keep track my last drive I didn’t even brake hard and counted on time but they still supposedly tracked “hard braking” and now my score has gone down 3 points for a one mile trip I accelerate and decelerate so slow I have cars almost running into the back of me it’s dangerous so I guess I’ll have to switch insurance companies again

Decent insurance terrible app
Insurance is decent and affordable. I don’t like I have to use an app to monitor how I drive to keep my rates down. That is seriously intrusive. And the app never stays connected to my car so it’s not getting all the data it needs. Would only recommend for those with older cars.
Terrible stay away!
Terrible company. No communication, they refuse to send out bills, zero communication with billing issues and then they claim they can’t fix issues?? Also zero communication when there are issues on their end. Save the hassle and go with a reputable company…
Super affordable Insurance. And easy app.
My only issues so far is I’m about to renew my insurance with them but the app has not logged a single drive of mine. I’ve tried even having the app open both on screen and in the background in hopes this would fix things but it didn’t. And I have all the permissions on so it’s allowed to track my driving.

Nothing Special
Just saw that my rate was raised. I need a company that doesn’t go up in price and instead stay the same unless I decide to add features to my policy. I like that I can see my driving score even though the numbers aren’t that accurate.
Pretty Sure this company is insurance fraud
the number they provide for questions doesnt work
Impressive
Wow I’m impressed. Not like any other insurance app I’ve seen with some pretty cool features.
Great Insurance app
Pretty great Insurance easy to get and pretty good prices but app needs some work
