Waste 15 mins just trying to align my eyes
I’m wearing prescription glasses and I can’t see clearly without my glasses. The apps require impossible perfect alignment to measure the pd value, but I am not able to do that without my glasses. Very frustrated. I will just use a mirror and ruler I guess.

Move your into the oval, you’re too far, you’re too close. My arms were aching after holding steady for so long and it still didn’t give a reading

The scan takes way too long. I don’t have enough patience to put up with it.

As many have said it just keeps asking you to put your head in the oval, no matter how much you try your head will never be in the oval.

I’m an FBSO. Took 30mins to get this to produce a result and not accurate to known clinical result.

Impossible to use
Impossible to get a scan with the 16-May-2026 version. Calibration is impossible, with *very* slight millimeter-level phone movements being called too close or too far.
If you manage to achieve the correct distance, the slightest movement will quickly cancel the scan countdown and send you back into the endless calibration process.
It would probably be easier if they allowed you to set your phone down and adjust your head position, but the app currently requires a specific tilt angle, requiring you to hold your phone in your hands.

Differing results each time used, therefore unreliable.
The glasses suppled by glasses direct, who insisted on this app being used, had to be returned for a refund (at least no issue there) as they were unusable.

Just a word of warning. If you have a beard forget it . This will not work. It keeps saying uncover your face.

Can it be that hard? All I got was place your head in the oval. After 10 minutes of what would be called absolutely fail proof instructions got le no where. Never achieved anything except the same repetitive instructions, I remembered I have innumerable things to do other than argue with an app. Nice try folks. And don’t respond telling me to do those or that… you should’ve programmed ‘this or that’ into the app so that we wouldn’t have to go through this circus.

May not be accurate
I repeated it 3 times to make sure it was accurate and got 3 different readings. Ended up repeating it about 10 times and went with the measurement I got most often. The measurements varied by about 2.5mm total so hopefully my glasses won't be off after I order them. But would recommend repeating a few times to make sure you get a reliable number.

Don’t waste your time
I would give this negative stars if I could. Why even have an app that doesn’t work at all. I spent a total of 15 minutes at 3 different times, jumping through hoops about tilting and raising my phone, being too close or far away, and putting my head in the oval, just for nothing to happen. It’s an absolute joke

Can’t wear glasses and therefore you can’t read the instructions- no voice commands. Also says too dark when stood in a conservatory in day light.
