Randomly thinks I’m doing yoga all the time

In the last week here the app is suggesting an activity when I didn’t do any and thinks I did yoga. This is new. Just giving 1 star to get dev attention. Will modify review once that’s fixed, otherwise all is good.

First week of use, not worth the $$$

This is an expensive hardware with a required subscription. I’m coming to the conclusion it’s not worth the $$$ after a week of use for the data it provides.
1. You cannot zoom in into the heart rate data. The graphs space out between a 2 - 6 hr breakdown, that is as close as you can see it. The Learn More option under each graph is solely to “teach you what that metric means”, it’s not further data breakdown.
2. You cannot connect to Peloton or OrangeTheory apps, the data those apps feed Apple Heath is what Oura pulls. It’s not the exact data and it does not pull your heart rate zones. The Contributors breakdown under Activity is extremely misleading, you click on it expecting to see data breakdown and surprise, more teaching text, no data.
3. You cannot zoom in into the sleep data. You can only edit time in bed/out of bed once. Similar to 1 and 2 above, no zooming in, lots of “teaching text” where data should be.
4. There’s no clear user friendly way to log medical conditions. Their AI customer service (THE worst) gives you wrong instructions and you’re left with nowhere to add what you want. You can add tags, which don’t seem to make any difference into the app use of the data it collected and is more for you to know what you did different that day.
5. Readiness score - it honestly feels like gaslighting. It tells you the app knows whether you’re ready for your day or not. Not you, not your knowing of how your own body feels and how you feel ready for the day when you wake up.
6. Even with notifications turned on, the app does not send you notifications. The only time you’ll see a notification is when you open the app, it updates and surprise again, there’s a notification you should have received 2 hours ago.
7. In some screens they use a (i) for the teaching text, there should be more data breakdown and zoom available and every teaching text displayed in the same consistent manner under the (i) information section.
8. After several dead end tentatives to reach a human and not being allowed by AI, I will NOT try customer service again to solve any of the issues I’ve encountered.
Some other features are still “calibrating” since it’s my first week using the ring and it needs to collect data. I’m not holding my breath there will be anything worth writing home about when those features are available. Again, not worth the $$$ for what it provides.

Health

I love my Oura it helps me stay on track!

Incessant notifications

Enough with the in app notifications to refer a friend and do a health panel!! I have the recommendation notifications turned off yet still receive these notifications daily. Infuriating!

Need Sleep?

I’m always tired AND I sleep with a CPAP machine. Once I got the OURA ring, I understood why. I wasn’t really sleeping OR getting the right amount of sleep. The ring shows the types is sleep required (Deep, REM, etc.) by the body. It even shows my deficit; which I’m working on. Get you an OURA ring and get some sleep 💤

Promesses but doesn’t deliver

It advertises itself as a tracker. Its insights about sleep and recovery are constantly wrong. They give you a month to return but it takes a month for the device to have an idea of your baselines. So basically it is impossible to return since you need those 30 days to see if it works.

This has changed my life

Thanks to the Oura ring. I realize how much I push myself when I’m absolutely exhausted when I don’t sleep well. I take the breaks that are suggested which allows me to sleep better that night!

Disappointed

You would think the cost of this device with the needed subscription would mean it would work properly. But unfortunately, when you get up in the night and then go back to sleep half the time does not to sleep afterwards. This is clearly a problem that anybody could see with a quick Reddit search.

Best Smart Ring Yet

Edit - 8/25 Thank you, Oura team for reaching out and letting me know that Oura will continue to evolve the BP analytics to incorporate age variables. It is much appreciated!

Edit - 8/24/2026
Still love the ring but have a recommendation for the blood pressure readings. The app sticks to rigid platform but for us seniors, it would be better if you used our actual age. My 123/70 BP is great for someone in the 70s. Please make it more useful for all age groups- thanks.

I have used several smart rings and every version of the Oura. They are the best on the market and continually improving it. I wear it every day and many people think it is jewelry.

Quick question for the Version 4 users. After the recent firmware update, has anyone else had an issue with the battery not holding as well? I’d gotten spoiled with the multiple day battery but am now have very little battery left after 24 hours.

Ring position

If the ring is supposed to be positioned so the small white band is near the palm why make the band white which makes it very hard to see on the silver ring. You have to have very good light to find it as it's difficult to find on the silver ring.

Also, This morning there was an update too the app and it stalled for several minutes. So long in fact that I restarted the phone and it still took quite a long time to finish updating.

Do NOT use Flexpa or Health Panels

The Flexpa and Health Panels service is a complete scam. Provided my extremely sensitive medical data through the app and the Flexpa service only for Oura to not know what happened a because after more than their stipulated 10 business days it still shows as “processing data”. The Oura reps are an embarrassment that have no idea what to do, even after a $69 membership. Who knows who has my data now and can see all of my medical history. Joke is on me I guess. What a bad look Oura. You are not holding up on your end of the deal and mismanaging sensitive data.

Love this product

An easy way to keep you healthy

Over priced for generic metrics

The least you can expect if paying for a non worth jewellery that gets your health data and on top you get charged for “use monthly” is to hv a personal used set of data and metrics based on your particular system. However, this offers generic data base on general mathematical models unable to be able to fully tracked or customised for your particular case. Would be happy if could get my money back 🙏🏽

Love it … 2 suggestions I would love (Selfish)

I do really love how the ring is developing a good knowledge of me and so comfortable.. I’m slowly realising this is for health not necessarily weight loss focused which I do like. Could we have a tab to log fluids though.. as a shift worker when I’m nights I often forget to drink and it would be good to be able too. Leading into next request actually … according to Office of National statistics 20-25% of the Genpop are shift workers and even though it asks you on set up there is no way to log night work (or have I missed something) but I think it could be such good info to link nights to circadian rhythms and things like liver function and analysis of post nights sleep and activity behaviour - love all shift workers but do it for the nurses 🙏🏽

Good so far

It’s only been a few months, but so far it seems to be keeping me well informed in regard to my overall health status & sleep patterns.
It seems to work similar to my wife’s Apple Watch 10 as far as the data is concerned. I didn’t want to spend $500-$1000 on a smart watch so I opted to spend the $100 per year and I bought a Oura Ring version 3 on the used Market for 100 bucks.
The battery lasts about 3 days which is nice and I only take it off to charge while I shower for 30 minutes, then I leave it on, even in the shower or pool, etc.
To my knowledge the only other Smart Ring that can compete with this one is the Samsung one, but it only works with Samsung Galaxy Gear. The App for this Oura Ring works with all Smartphones.

Oura is Great

I’m really enjoying using Oura. It’s a great product and app!

Can’t find where I measure my current heart rate

Can’t easily find items I would like to see. Ex. Where to measure my heart rate right now.
