A little edgy loading cash
There always seems to be someone answering the phone if I have a problem with the app which is so important when I’m half a world away from home.
Easy to use and rewarding, but online card acceptance can be unreliable
My overall experience with Qantas Pay is positive. The product was previously Qantas Travel Money, managed through the Qantas Money app, before becoming Qantas Pay.
I find the current iPhone app straightforward and easy to use. Being able to add money instantly through Apple Pay without a fee is particularly handy. I try to use Qantas Pay for most of my purchases where it is accepted, as building my Qantas Points balance through everyday spending is one of the main reasons I use it. The current app supports loading funds via Apple Pay and managing the card directly from the iPhone.
The main downside for me is occasional online acceptance. Recently, I specifically transferred funds into Qantas Pay to purchase flights. I successfully bought a Qantas flight through the Qantas app using the card directly, but later the Rex Airlines website declined the same card despite sufficient funds being available.
I then tried PayPal using the Qantas Pay card, but that was also declined with the message: “Check your account balance before trying this card again.”
The frustration is that I had specifically moved the money into Qantas Pay for the flights. Cashing it back out to my normal bank account is not instant, with Qantas Pay advising that funds will generally be available within two business days.
Overall, I find Qantas Pay useful and deliberately use it where I can to build my Qantas Points balance. Better acceptance for some online purchases or faster cash-outs would make it considerably more reliable.

Thank goodness for Qantas Pay
I got stuck in Vietnam using my Wise card. I made the change to Wise because I believed I’d save on transaction fees - well what a headache - I’ve been left without access to any money. Step in my Qantas Pay card, yay! Saved the day, or rather my holiday!
Vmok
With age I found it initially a bit difficult to be quick enough to put in codes sent to me during the process.
Why not
I should have done this a long time ago
So easy to use
I’ve been using Qantas pay previously Qantas cash for years even my kids use it. Simple to use overseas in any country & reliable.
Great travel card
This card & it’s features are very easy to use & the app is very easy to install & navigate & the customer support is very good and helpful
Not your account
Banks fraud team blocked the transfer of funds as the account name (my name) given by Qantas didn’t match the account name they had on file (Qantas makes it look like they setup an account for you but they didn’t, your money goes to some other holding account). This caused problems getting money when I needed it. So far my money has just disappeared (not in bank, not in Qantas pay). Hopefully it’s not a scam.

Deposits
Used the card for my child when travelling. Minimum deposit of $50 which is fine but not ideal.
Other currencies
Would be great if you added Indonesia to the list of exchange currencies
Activate new card
The process has been frustrating. After a long wait, I verified security details with an operator and was transferred to an auto who then transferred me to another operator who said that my card number was incorrect. I tried the App and finally got through after several attempts at setting my PIN. Now I am not sure which PIN is in the system as three attempts will lock me out especially when I am overseas.

Poor exchange rates
Other cards offer mid-market rates and no fees. Not this QANTAS pay card.
Must have
Convenient to use, gives you points too.
Unsatisfied
Not satisfied with the system not allowing me to input £ at a rate of.497 as I usually do. Had to input $Aus then change into £ at a rate of.483. What’s this all about.
Great app
Easy to used and work excellent give me a exchange rate better than any other bank. Yen is the main currency I use with AUD.
Suddenly fallen apart
Cannot log into the app despite deleting and reinstalling said app. I have also turned if my iPhone and turned phone back on, and still unable to log into Qantas Pay app.
Expensive & Slow
App is terrible along with exchange rates being expensive.
Good Business
Very Fast to Reload, some places won’t take QANTAS AMEX,this Card lets you accumulate Points so you don’t miss out
𝘗𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵
𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥
Expensive
Qantas was around 5% worse than directly with my bank
