Garbage
Buggy
I am unable to tolerate this app anymore and have just deleted it. I’d probably feel a little less safe every now and again, but good riddance!!
Response from developer
Thank you for reaching out, and we are very sorry for the stress and late-night disruption this caused both you and your security team. As an actual alert was received by security, we want to audit your specific account logs immediately to identify the exact alert type and what triggered it. To help us investigate this for you, please contact our technical engineering team directly at support@criticalarc.com with your account details. We take all safety events seriously and want to help you resolve this so you can feel completely secure using the app again
Badly made app
Whether you pick the fact that it clearly doesn’t use modern size class APIs and has some very iOS 6 looking buttons in there, this app is partying like it’s 2010, and it’s not afraid to flaunt it. But the icing on the cake was when I entered the “diagnostics” screen and just couldn’t get out of it. No back button, nothing. Does this app work? Maybe. Does this app succeed in making a few people a sum of money by selling it to people for whom “compliance” is a headline feature. Absolutely. Is it designed for people to actually use in any way whatsoever? No.
The developers will never read this, or indeed any of these reviews, as they’ve moved on to selling some other terrible “compliance” app no doubt, and I’m sure will be scrambling for the password to the GIT repo for this one when an iOS update breaks it even more than its current state. But just for me, and anyone reading this who appreciates good design, and what iOS Apps should’ve, this app deserves to be punished by a 1 star review.
You’re welcome. Do better.
Response from developer
Thank you for the detailed technical feedback. We assure you our development team reads every review, and we take critiques from our technical users very seriously. To clarify, SafeZone has been our sole focus and flagship product since 2011. We do not build 'one-off compliance apps'; we actively maintain, test, and regularly update this single ecosystem to ensure total reliability. While we are currently working on a refreshed look and feel, the simplicity of our layout is a deliberate choice. The app is engineered to be incredibly responsive and resilient, prioritizing speed and accessibility so users under high stress can get help instantly without visual distraction. We took your report about the diagnostics screen soft-lock seriously but have been unable to replicate the bug internally. We would highly appreciate it if you could share your device model and any specific steps to reproduce it by emailing us at support@criticalarc.com so we can investigate further. Thank you for holding us to a higher standard.
Nice idea but…
Response from developer
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concerns and want to assure you that you retain full control over your location sharing. Here is why the app requests these specific permissions to support your safety: Location: Required to ensure your position can refresh in the background if you are checked in or during an active emergency. Bluetooth: Used to integrate with external wearable alert hardware or to leverage indoor positioning systems, depending on whether your organization has deployed them in your specific environment. Notifications: Strictly used to deliver critical safety updates and emergency alerts. It also allows you to communicate with response teams via text if you are under duress or unable to speak. Your privacy is our priority, and location data is only transmitted when you actively check in, raise an alert, or send a report with a location included.
Good App
Quite awful
Fantastic app!
Amazing Safety Resource
Very useful app but here is one suggestion…
Would be useless in an emergency
Cannot log in
I mistakenly tested the app
Good but immense battery draining
There used to be an option to manually “check in” but that no more works if the Always On location prompt is turned off. For that i’d choose not to use the app anymore.
Meh
Good idea, poorly executed
The app crashes whenever I press check in timer (not sure what the button is for)
Are you kidding me?
Cannot sign in
Developers: Fix this asap please.
I love this App!!
Won’t take phone number entry
