Must have for travel in Switzerland

Trains are stupid expensive in Switzerland, but at least they have this amazing app. It is really the only option when it comes to figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do to get from Place to Place. It’s fully in English, and is more accurate and helpful than Google maps.

Response from developer

Good day. Thank you very much for the 5* rating. I'm very pleased that you like SBB Mobile so much. I wish you continued great journeys with our app. Kind regards.

Fehler zahlt der Kunde

App funktioniert nicht. Fahre fast jeden Tag damit.

Rubbish help

Absolutely no information about whether it's possible to upload previously purchased Swiss Travel Pass onto the app. No help whatsoever.

Response from developer

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. You can find this information online on the page for your product -> https://www.sbb.ch/en/offers/swiss-travel-pass "Swiss Travel Pass goes mobile. You can also show the Swiss Travel Pass in the SBB Mobile app. But only if you buy it online by signing in with a login. (Does not work for Flex versions.)". Kind regards.

It’s good! But needs small improvements.

As an American visiting Switzerland for the first time, I think using this app is near perfect. However, there are a few things that could be improved upon. First, I wish when selecting an initial route the train/route (like EC 191) would show on the list of available trains. I don’t want to have to click on the connection and then the route details to see what it is. Makes communicating with people on what connections to take a little tedious. Second, the purchased ticket section should have the platform number listed on there. I understand platforms can change which is why it’s not there, but adding that to a refreshable part of the ticket or next to the ticket would make it easier. I don’t like having to find the connection again to see if the platform has changed.

FAQ

What does SBB Mobile do?

SBB Mobile is a personal travel companion for public transport. It helps you plan your journeys, buy tickets, and provides real-time information about your trips, including departure and arrival times, platform details, and service disruptions. It also allows you to manage your digital travelcards and find your way around stations.

How do I buy tickets with SBB Mobile?

You can buy tickets for the whole of Switzerland in just two clicks within the app. Your existing travelcards on the SwissPass are automatically applied. The app also allows you to purchase supersaver tickets or Saver Day Passes for more affordable travel options.

Is SBB Mobile free to use?

The SBB Mobile app itself is free to download and use. However, it facilitates the purchase of train tickets and travelcards, which are paid services. There are also in-app purchases available for regional transport tickets and Day Passes.

What devices is SBB Mobile compatible with?

While the description doesn't explicitly state compatibility, it is designed as a mobile application, implying it is available for smartphones and tablets. Users can typically find it on major app stores for iOS and Android devices.

How does EasyRide work?

EasyRide allows you to check in, hop on, and head off across the entire GA Travelcard network. The app then calculates the correct ticket for your journey based on the routes you have travelled and charges you the relevant amount subsequently, simplifying the ticketing process.
