SchoolPain
The app’s name should be changed to SchoolPain, every time we need to log in: we need to find the school and put our password every time which for come reason it does not have the option to safe in the apple security app so to log in I need to go into passwords and select the password already saved for the website.
When I go into the app I am asked if I want to create a 4 digit password, I tried to do that thousand of times during the year I select 4 numbers, I go to the second step that is confirming the 4 numbers, and says it does not match every time! It certainly should be matching I even tried with 0000!!! Nothing works. And after the second step that does not let me pass from there I can’t cancel neither, I need to close the app and start again the logging process
Notifications are not working properly just showing when the app wants not all the time a message is there.
I prefer to don’t use the app and go directly to the web!
The app need some adjustments asap.

Awful update
The latest update means that you have to select school and put in an email and password EVERY time you login which is a long and pointless since there’s really no reason for it not to be kept logged in. It gives the option to set a passcode to make logging in quicker however it fails every time on the second page telling you that the numbers don’t match. Even if you then set up a passcode in the settings it will switch off the option as soon as you leave the app and still make you log back in.

Where do I start?
Username and password not saved when logging in. Messages have to be individually viewed (no read all/delete all option) in fact there’s no obvious option to delete message’s.
When selecting inactivity lockout pin keeps saying incorrect pin entered and there’s no option to go back - you have to shutdown the app and start again.
No option to save the school so you have to do everything from scratch every time you log in. No biometric/facial recognition login option.
This really needs to be sorted.

Awful app
This app is just such a waste of time. Like others on here have stated it’s unusable.
I can only assume that because users are forced to use it the developer is getting away with not addressing the issues.
I just want to use it to read messages and I can’t even do that. You click on a message and the screen just goes blank. I have tried to delete local data in settings and it doesn’t allow me to. I have tried uninstall and reinstall it. Nothing fixes it.

I’ve just read the review labelled ‘rubbish’ and I’m so glad I’m not loosing my mind! I thought it was just me!

You used to be able to use Face ID and easy peasy you were logged in.
Why the change? I’ve missed so much important information from my child’s school because I don’t have a spare 20 minutes to log in!

Worst app
The developer needs to read some of these reviews, this is the worst app ever, feel like I could have done a better job. Million unread messages as there is no option to delete all, super buggy and just a waste of space that I’ve been forced to sign up to so I don’t get bombarded with a million emails. Total rubbish.

Won’t open at all
New version of ping refuses to open just blue screen, sad as this app used to be good, version 4.3 is broken.
Logs out every time it’s closed
Nice idea bit terrible user experience - requires new login every time it is re-opened. Need sorting asap!
Useless
Can login from browser but app keeps complaining about wrong username or password. Passcode stops working without any reason.
Rubbish
App crashes if you try to zoom into a PDF. That’s pretty rubbish. Doesn’t have a lot of redeeming features either.

Why the (attempted) high security? It’s just basic communications from the school like lunch menu, after school clubs etc. I don’t think we need two factor authentication to find out my daughter’s having Chinese chicken for lunch?
Come on developers: just sort it out please. This could be a genuinely usefully app.
On the plus side, the aforementioned PDF crash issue seems to have been fixed for now.

I’m not sure anyone could make something worse than this even if they were trying.
Doesn’t notify when you have a message
It was all good until it stopped showing I had unread messages unless I opened the app it doesn’t notify anymore
Can we get a Marked all as read option?
Rather Buggy unfortunately. Messages come through well and in a good format but often find you open and read a message but will not show as read no matter how many times you enter and exit that message. There also isn’t a “mark all as read” feature so eventually (with all the messages that inevitably get sent) the inbox looks like you have hundreds of unread messages and nothing you can do about it.

Worst app. Asks to enter credentials every time and not even allowing passcode and fails validation even if you enter the same passcode twice. There are issues in booking appointments from school
Unable to clear notifications
No matter how hard I try, I can’t clear notifications. It is so bugged. Have reinstalled, still doesn’t work. Constantly says I have 5 unread notifications. The 5 have a red dot to say they are unread. I read them, the red dot stays but the number goes down to say I’ve read them. Then I close the app and it is back to 5. Very frustrating

Horrendous App
I feel like I’m losing my mind trying to use this app. As a message board, providing school updates etc it’s grand however, as soon as you delve into having to interact and complete any type of form the whole things falls to pieces.
* entering information into a field automatically redirects you to the top of the form. Scroll half way back down the form to insert the next piece of information, surprise surprise it redirects you to the top of the form - simple bit of coding should address this to make life a bit easier?!
*most people use their mobile phones to store contact numbers…. heaven forbid you need to jump from one app to your contacts directory to copy and paste some info 🤣 it’ll wipe all the previous information in your form and you have to go through to pain of filling everything in from scratch.
*If for whatever reason you download the app on a new device, you’re prompted for an inactivity passcode - 4 digits - the app bricks itself and doesn’t acknowledge the request.
Please put your apps through proper testing before going live. Life’s hard enough without having to deal with this shambolic app every 6 weeks 🥴🥴

Pretty dire
This app is very basic to the point of being annoying. You can’t do simple things that have been common in other apps for 15 years, such as RSS readers. You can’t mark messages as read or unread. You can’t hide read messages to make it easier to find unread ones. It’s quite slow just to load a simple message that has a few lines of text.

It might now be working!
I’m cautiously optimistic that they’ve fixed some of the bugs. The app now remembers my login and it also displays correctly and sends notifications. Well done devs.
