Constant log out
Since getting an iPhone 17, the app does not stay logged in and requires constant log ins. Friend said the same. Did not have the issue on previous iPhone 13.
Hopeless
Hard to imagine how you get such a simple app to be so poor. I get notifications for new messages but in the app the messages are not there. Having to delete and reinstall and hope for the best. Rubbish.

I thought this was a great app. Last two days there has been excessive errors and problems signing in. The app won’t even load up today. Cant delete or save messages. However main problem is today, can’t even load up.
Bare minimum effort
Can’t search. Can’t create a passcode. Just a terrible app in this day and age.
No functionality terrible user experience
I’ve no idea why schools are using school ping. You can’t filter messages, view unread, save things or delete them but the school is able to delete messages that you wanted to save to refer back to. Also you can view a calendar but there’s no way of adding events to your own calendar like you can with most other services and email.
Messages which you’ve read randomly go back to unread and forms and payments are a total PITA.

layout
Since switching from iPhone 11 to iPhone 16, the app layout is broken.
The close (X) button is hidden under the status bar / Dynamic Island and cannot be tapped.
I’ve already tried reinstalling the app and logging out/in, but the issue remains.
Please update the app for newer iPhone models.

Awful UX
This app is just so clunky, and un user friendly.
Doesn’t work properly
Functionality is very poor. Keeps hanging all the time even after having the phone being updated to the newest version.
Unreliable
Never seems to get number of messages correct, notifications don't work most the time and now the app has completely broken. Dreadful technology that needs rebuilding from the ground up.

Asked me to set a pin, however after repeated pin- it’s says “wrong pin”. Can you fix this issue asap, please.
Today is 5th of February and the issue still not fixed. Can’t you just do something about it? Why do we have to login every single time and put exact the same pin, only to be told by the app it is in fact wrong!

Infuriating school app
I’m looking forward to the day I can delete this app when my daughter moves to high school. Having to manually log in every time you open the app is tedious, the ‘extra security’ layer just doesn’t work. Back to the drawing board with this one.
PLEASE FIX THE APP
Still the app makes you have to select your school and put in an email and password EVERY SINGLE TIME you login which is a long and pointless It gives you the option to set a passcode however it fails every time. Even if you then set up a passcode in the settings it will switch off the option as soon as you leave the app and still make you log back in. PLEASE

Garbage app, developed by amateurs
Sick of having to keep logging back in, the UX is horrible, not even a way to mass mark letters as read so I have a backlog all the time, probably been developed by some guys they found on fiver. Wish the school would go back to good old paper letters’
Amazing customer support
Been logged out of ping for 3 months! Really helpful helpdesk’s person has helped me regain access! Highly recommended! If you have zen Wi-Fi you’ll need to switch off Wi-Fi on your phone to login.
Frustrating!
Notifications do not come through on my phone for this app, meaning I am missing important notifications. I am running the latest version and have worked through the troubleshooting guide and still they don’t come through. Also on some iPhones you need to rotate the phone to access the cross to exit a notification or access the menu. When you do this you then have to reenter the pin to continue reading the message, which is really frustrating.
I have been using this app for over a year now and never had these issues until recently.
Also having no way of contacting you to notify you of these issues other than through leaving a review where you have to add a nickname and spend ages trying to find one that is not already taken is infuriating!!

Schools: please stop using this app
Most infuriating method of communication a school could use. I often don’t receive any messages on it - defies the purpose of a communication app!!!!
