Great concept
Moralizing BS
iPhone issues
Awesome scale and great way to lose weight.on a rating of 1 to 10 I give The Shapa scale s 10.
Wouldn’t recommend: they don’t keep it up to date
Great, especially when features work
TLDR: it’s been a helpful tool in tracking towards my goals and creating a daily habit of recording, but the rewarding feel is lessened by less features working as intended.
I’m on my husbands plan and I renewed and it keeps going back to renewal every time I use my app
Broken
Useless
Stupid permission pop-up
Very, very buggy for an app that does so few functions
Extremely often, it will hang for several minutes when “uploading” results to the server or “calculating” variances (in quotes because neither of these operations should take more than a few seconds, definitely not 5+ minutes). And if it then cancels, it says to check the “battery life” - while telling you that you likely have over 60% battery life. Seems the issue is really more likely that there’s not a good connection with your feet and the scale and slightly moistening the metal strips will solve the issue - but it keeps bleating about battery life when the app itself should be able up see that’s false.
Then, if you miss a day and it offers you a chance to make it up, tapping on the alert sends you to a completely different part of the app and you lose that chance. It’s 2024, folks; alert handling should be a basic feature.
And now, I was sick - so yesterday, I told it, “I’m sick.” Easy enough, and is supposed to pause things. So today, I get one of those useless “Protect your streak!” alerts - which shouldn’t even appear because, you know, I’m sick - and I already told the app I’m sick. And again, I tap that alert and … it takes me to the last page I visited in the app (the “I’m sick” page). I turn off “sick,” so the app … asks if I’m traveling.
So now I have to lie and pretend I was traveling, AFTER I already told it I was sick, maybe because it hasn’t been 24 hours? (Food poisoning.) Yes, yesterday, I told it I was sick later in the afternoon because that’s when I was starting to do things, and this time, I logged in around noon because I’m feeling better - which SHOULD NOT MATTER AT ALL. News flash: days start at midnight local time & end at 11:59:59pm local time. So after correctly and legitimately letting the app know I was sick, and then legitimately coming back, and legitimately coming back through the “Protect your streak” alert, it (a) sent me to the wrong page, (b) ignored my declaration that I was sick (does that even do anything, or did you put it there as a special form of torture for your users?), and (c) made me lie to it to do what I tried to do legitimately.
All these are issues that should have long been dealt with, but many have persisted for *years*. So while it’s a nice overall setup, it’s no better than some others, and demonstrably worse than ones that actively address bugs.
