App is horrible
The app is verbal to use if you wish to file a claim! Half the time it doesn’t work the other half of the time it’s so frustrating to use because you’ll submit the claim and it’ll come back and tell you that it didn’t submit and here you’ll find that it did submit it 10 times in a row. Right now, I am trying to submit a claim every time it tells me to Select the Vet clinic I used I Select the vet clinic only to hit next and it keeps telling me to re-submit the Vet clinic🤬

WhiskerDoc feature
Tried accessing the emergency whisker doc feature but repeatedly couldn’t access the text option and the “20 minute” return call from the call feature was not an accurate wait time . I’ve had Spot for years now and was feeling pretty upset by the changes in 24/7 emergency line providers.
Did finally hear back after an hour of waiting an received wonderful support but it has been a stressful wait.

Terrible
If i could write a million of these i would i never leave a bad review for anything but spot is terrible.
Poor app
This app isn’t very good. I constantly have to call customer service and they try, but the app never works. I try a PC laptop and even their site doesn’t recognize my email. Funny how they can take my money, but they are non existent when I try and login and make a claim.
Unable to sign into account
The spot insurance login info is correct but I am signing in from a different location from when I created the account and it won’t let me sign in to cancel the subscription. They intentionally make it a difficult process to cancel their service. They also raised the price twice in the two and a half years that I’ve had it. I have to call customer support to cancel

Do not get spot insurance
When I had spot, I had to get them every single vet file before they would even look at my dogs claim. I then had to go back to the vet and ask them to rewrite notes so it matched a format that spot would approve (which is CRAZY). I then waited for many weeks with no progress on my claim and had multiple calls with them that left me frustrated. I eventually after a long time got my claim covered but I got rid of them after that…. I found lemonade insurance for way more coverage and a lower monthly. Because it was cheaper, I was scared the claims process would be terrible once I had to use it… I was so wrong. Filing a claim took like 10 minutes and I had an email the next morning stating it was approved with no issue! Long story short, DO NOT waste your time and money like I did! Go get lemonade (or another) insurance. I have NO IDEA how spot is still rated highly on pet insurance because all I had was bad experience for less and more expensive coverage

Needs fixing
Every time I try to upload documents I get some kind of error and end up having to email them. Super inconvenient

my claim was under review and it said i need to add additional documents, and then when i try to upload them it never uploads

Really bad app update
Pets take forever to load or don’t load at all. Pet history not loading so there’s no option to choose an existing illness or accident, meaning I can’t file a claim from the app at all. Just a horrible app now, really surprised

Absolutely do not recommend spot pet insurance
My policy did cover dental procedures and when it came time to file a estimate claim for my pups dental extraction they would ask for non existent records that even my vet called telling me they had no clue what else to send since they had already sent all of the medical records, they rejected the claim and then had me re open it again and then again asked for non existent records and rejected it again, I absolutely regret paying for this insurance and will not be recommending it to anyone

Does not work in canada
I went to register my account, even though ive been on it numerous times on the internet, and it doesnt accept postal code. So. Useless to me.
Fix it!
I’ve had the spot app for a long time now. It used to be fantastic, so user-friendly, quick and easy. I don’t know what’s changed, but it’s terrible. It doesn’t load when it does. It takes forever. The lines and writing are cut off. It’s nearly impossible to enter the necessary information. The app says issues were fixed a month ago, not sure what was fixed, but it’s a horrible app now. May have to think about switching insurances to something easier to submit claims to.

Awful
They offer the wellness insurance but they pay a fixed amount and not what you paid no matter if it’s a difference. The insurance does everything they can to not cover the expenses you made. Prefer any other.
Difficult to cancel
There is no way (that I could see) to cancel on the app or website so you’ll have to call. And be prepared for an interrogation when you cancel
The best insurance
Truly the best pet insurance and claims are easy to file through the app. Customer service is always friendly and you can customize a plan that works for you. I’ve had claims pay out within a few days especially if you’ve already filed claims under the policy.
My only cons are the app can be a bit glitchy. Also with my new puppy every time I file a claim they request records from before she was born. Otherwise super happy and will be a customer for life!

Can’t Login
App is terrible, it doesn’t even work. Every time I try to login, nothing happens but somehow it sends me a one time code to my email that I cant even put into the app. Useless app
App froze with first attempted use
I’m hoping the functioning of the app does not represent the quality of the communication overall with Spot Pet Insurance. Very disappointed with this first encounter!
USE ANY OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY OTHER THAN SPOT
I’ve been iffy with spot since the day I got it. Monthly bill started between $60-70 a month. Their prices have only gone up since and now they have randomly taken out $186 from my account. I am immediately canceling all services with them and going to progressive if I’ll be paying that much. Spot insurance sucks too!

We have been with Spot pet insurance now for 3 years. Over the past year I have had to resubmit, call customer support, and email medical records as well as claims appeals multiple times with poor results or no resolution at all.
Multiple claims were improperly denied based on false categorization as pre existing conditions. The customer support call center is poorly supported and my appeals emails are now "not being received despite confirming the email address with the claims representation e letter by letter.
We are spending hundreds of dollars per month on medication for our old dog to minimize her pain with no reimbursement for the past year.
Bottom line: DO NOT use Spot. Do yourself a favor and seek pet insurance from someone who doesn't commit insurance fraud by denying your claims and appeals.
