HORRIBILE APP
THIS APP IS A SCAM!!!! I DOWNLOADED IT AND NEVER PUT MY CARD INFO ONLY MY INFO AND IT STEALS MONEY FROM U UNDER YOUR NOSE. BRIGIT,EARNIN AND CHIME ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER !
Took money out of my account and didn’t even help.
Tried to do the cash advance. Took my money for a bogus subscription but wouldn’t give advance even though I’ve had a good standing with my bank for years along with regular deposits. SCAM. Will be disputing with my bank.

Also holiday and birthday money. Helped me learned how to manage and move my money. So it’s incredibly reliable and useful for parents who want a safe and easy to use account with their kids.
For teens. This is amazing for building credit. I got my credit to 707 in less than 2 years. Took me about 1 year and 3 months. Mainly cause I kept up with purchases and rented things and paid them off easily with step.
On top of that investing in stocks. It helps you with a very easy and simple UI. I honestly use it every so often and it’s incredibly good. When you get the black card you don’t have to pay with direct deposit of over $500.
It gives you points to trade for actual money or gift cards. It’s honestly the best thing I’ve seen. Plus 3% when you put money on your savings. It’s honestly the best I’ve seen. So yes. Highly recommend it especially for younger people.

Stopped using an ordinary debit card entirely
I just love step they’ve helped me establish a super high payment history thus helping me in my credit journey. And can’t beat the price four bucks for step black. I hope to soon learn investing and stuff cuz they also offer an investment account thing. Well worth the money and the time! And I just LOVE getting credit card points for literally everything known to man that I happen to already shop for.

Not anything special
I haven’t been able to borrow any money. The incentive to invite someone to join the app is way too low. You also can’t transfer a small amount of money without paying a fee. So crazy to pay a fee to move your own money.

I really liked this app. I used it for investing in stocks for a couple of years but after I found out you can’t put anyone for a beneficiary on your stocks I plan on deleting the app. Pretty disappointing

Step has not been very helpful. I requested a new card because mine was coming apart and I put money on it and couldn’t use it anymore at alot of places. I requested it they said ok but still never received the card and don’t from them at all.

I’ve Been Having Trouble With The App Not Allowing Me To Withdraw Any Money It’s Been Saying I’ve Reached My Limit For Transfers And I Haven’t Even Spent Any Money Yet I’ve Tried Reaching Out With Someone Directly From The Step Team And Haven’t Had Any Luck.

App store page explicitly says no direct deposit needed for advances, but that is a lie.

Customer service is great with this app. I sent money to the incorrect child on this app and couldn’t figure out how to change it. I got great help from customer service.

This app and bank is great but…
I love the step app, it’s cool how you can invest in stocks and crypto and how that have built in rewards. I have had it for about a year now and haven’t had any issues. The credit and Apple Pay are both easy to use with tap to pay. There is one issue that I hope is fixed, when you open the app I would like for it to ask you to login or use Face ID, it only uses Face ID when making a transfer or adding money to savings tab. It would be great and more secure if we could be asked for Face ID when we first opened the app.
